Most of the time, it's a good idea to separate CSS and JavaScript code from the content. Sometimes, though, it is very specific code that you need for a single post or page only. The easiest way to do this is to embed the code in the post itself - a task not well supported for in the standard WordPress post/page editor. Until now...
