CPlanTeam Content Planner + Drafts is an editorial calendar plugin for WordPress that helps you decide what to write next and turn those ideas into structured drafts inside WordPress.
It reviews your existing site content, suggests topics and subtopics worth covering, and helps you build a practical content roadmap. When you are ready, it can generate a structured draft for a selected topic so you have something solid to edit and finish.
This plugin is built for planning and assisted writing, not one-click publishing. Everything happens inside WordPress, and no API keys or extra setup are required.
Why teams use it
- One source of truth – Your content roadmap lives in WordPress, with titles, structures, keywords, and dates tied to real posts.
- Editorial calendar and list views – Switch between a table and a visual calendar to spot gaps and plan upcoming work.
- Planning based on your site – Discover topics and subtopics to cover next based on the content already published on your site.
- Drafts you can review and improve – Generate a structured draft from a plan item, then edit it before anything is published.
What You Can Do (Free)
- Generate a content roadmap based on your site – Build a plan around the topics you already cover.
- Discover topics and subtopics to cover next – Find practical gaps and next-step ideas for your content.
- Create structured draft posts inside WordPress – Start with a clear draft you can edit in your normal workflow.
- No API keys required – Activate the plugin and start using it inside WordPress.
- Designed for human-in-the-loop workflows – Review, revise, and publish on your terms.
- View in Table or Editorial Calendar – Use the layout that fits your planning style.
- Track usage – See your token balance and renewal date in the dashboard.
- Background tasks – Draft generation runs in the background, so you can keep working while it completes.
How It Works
- Activate the plugin-no complex setup.
- Complete onboarding – Choose your content goal, language, and optional recommendations.
- Opt in when prompted to enable AI features (optional but recommended).
- Add ideas manually or click Generate AI to populate your pipeline.
- Generate a structured draft from any item, then review and edit it before publishing.
Important
- Content is generated as drafts only – Review and edit before publishing.
- Human review is always required – Generated drafts are a starting point, not a final post.
- This is not an auto-publishing tool – The plugin does not publish content for you.
- Not intended for mass-generated content – It is designed for thoughtful planning and assisted writing.
Example Use Case
You run a blog about fitness, SEO, or another specialist topic. The plugin reviews your existing posts and suggests useful topics you have not covered yet. You pick one idea, generate a structured draft inside WordPress, then edit and publish it in your own voice.
Our Own API
Content Planner uses our own dedicated API hosted at api.contentplan.app for content planning, draft generation, usage tracking, and content moderation. No separate API keys are required. Your data is handled securely and in line with our privacy policy. The plugin communicates with this API only when you use these features.
Free vs Pro
- Free: 20 AI tokens per 30-day period.
- Pro: 300 AI tokens per 30-day period.
What one token buys. Each token covers one AI-generated post idea, including its structure outline – so on the free tier you can produce up to 20 ideas per cycle if you use AI only for planning. Structured drafts cost more: generating a long-form draft from a plan item typically uses about 4–5 tokens for a draft in the ~1,800-word range (shorter or longer drafts may vary slightly). Mix idea generation and draft generation in whatever ratio fits your workflow; the dashboard shows what you have left.
Allowance reset. Free and Pro work the same way here: your tokens reset every month on the renewal date shown in the plugin.
Perfect For
- Editors and bloggers who want an editorial calendar inside WordPress
- Small businesses planning campaigns on a visible timeline
- Teams coordinating writers from one planner
- Anyone who wants planning help and structured drafts without leaving WordPress

External services
This plugin connects to the CPlanTeam Content Plan API (api.contentplan.app) to provide content planning, draft generation, usage tracking, and related services. It is needed to generate content plans and structured drafts from plan items.
It sends prompts, topic inputs, content plan requests, and article generation inputs when you use AI features. AI functionality is disabled by default and activated only after explicit user opt-in (required for consent under data protection laws before transmitting data). Prompts are not logged. Generated outputs are stored server-side. Technical data (website domain, plugin version, license key, usage metadata) may be sent for license validation and plan limit enforcement.
