One of the most exciting steps of the custom home building process is creating your home’s design. We work with you to develop detailed plans based on information from your initial consultation and other follow-on meetings.
It’s wise to take your time during this step. Think through your options and how the house will fit your day-to-day activities. Remember: It’s far easier to make changes on paper than on the construction site.
Depending on the complexity of your home and whether you know exactly what you want or would like us to help you figure it out, this step can take 30 to 90 days. During this time, you’ll work with our designers, or an architect or designer you’ve already selected.
If your project requires the services of additional professionals, such as a geotechnical engineer or civil engineer, we arrange them for you.
This is the time to choose the products and materials for your home. Our team guides you throughout this process, writes the project specifications and begins to establish the project budget.
When we all agree that design and budget are just right, we develop the permit-ready construction drawings, draft a project agreement and outline the timeline for your home.
