Not bad for a surprise party.

I wrote this after Fortune aired. We didn't know if we were going to see Chloe again and I was having a hard time saying goodbye to my favorite character. I had posted it in my personal journal, but now I'm posting it here for womenlovefest. I miss seeing Chloe on my TV horribly, but I am much happier with her happy ending now that the finale aired. Still, I stand by everything I said in the original post.

As far as she knew, Chloe had managed to keep this a surprise. She had been planning on driving to the Ace of Clubs with Lois and Hal but since the cake had been delayed, she had had to change her plans, leave early to pick it up at the very last possible minute and go solo.

She made her way into the restaurant/club/bar carrying said incredibly heavy cake and hoping she wouldn't trip as she ignored the fact that her red dress was actually riding up and possibly showing a little more leg than she intended. But she would fix that once she wasn't carrying enough dough and frosting for fifty people.

Everything had been reserved and set up, there was a big banner by the bar wishing her cousin happy birthday and golden and silver balloons around the area. Both of them were regulars there and since Wednesday was one of their slowest nights, Chloe had talked to the manager and gotten them a few perks. Like free champagne for their guests all night and their own bartender.

Once the cake was set on the table and her dress was back to the proper length, she greeted the employees she knew, made sure the cake table was set up properly and then she waited.

So, I was thinking of putting up a party thread for Lois' birthday on D&D verse, is anyone interested?

I have really weird work hours right now so I'm not on at night but I could set it up this weekend and we can just backdate it and let it go for as long as it takes. Since the verse is still relatively new, I thought it might be a good way for everyone to meet ICly.

I know I haven't been around a lot lately but I just wanted to remind everyone to check the main posts for the verses we have going. Also, I am doing my best to keep track of all the threads on those posts but I know I missed some so just leave me a link and I'll add the thread to it.

Defense and Desire

As long as you go in with the understanding that you're fooling yourself if you think you can remain friends with benefits for a long time without getting feelings involved, there are no cons because then you just end up falling for your best friend and you already know the sex is great anyway.

Of course, in most cases, you refuse to believe that you will actually fall for each other so the transition from friend with benefits to coupledom can get pretty rocky, but trust me, it won't get better until you force yourself to be honest about your feelings.

It was just before ten as Chloe made her way into the Queen Industries Metropolis building. She couldn't believe she was actually going to get an exclusive interview with Oliver Queen of all people. For all the times he made the front page of so many papers across the nation, he rarely spoke with the pres directly and when he did, it was normally through a press conference or through something released by his PR people.

She didn't know if he had agreed to this because he knew Tess, who Chloe happened to find out was his ex, was running the Daily Planet and he wanted to get her attention or if it was because Lois, who was also his ex, well sorta anyway, was her cousin and he wanted to get her attention, but she really didn't care, as long as her name was on the story, he could use her to get to either or both of his former flames all he wanted.

After speaking with the secretary, Chloe knocked on his office door before letting herself in, "Mr. Queen?"
