Washer Tournament Rules:

Registration & Schedule

  • Entry Fee: $100 per team (2 players per team)
  • Team Limit: 30 teams (advance registration recommended)
  • Team Captain Check-In: By 10:30 AM
  • Tournament Play Begins: 11:00 AM
  • Intermission: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

General Rules

  • No glass containers allowed. This rule will be strictly enforced.
  • Players must use event-provided washers only. Personal washers are not permitted.
  • Teams consist of two (2) players and partners may not be changed.
  • Tournament format is double elimination.

Game Play

  • During each round, one player from each team pitches five (5) washers toward the opposite cup.
  • Washers may be thrown consecutively or alternating with the opposing player.
  • Washers must land inside the pit to be eligible for scoring.
  • Only one player per team may score per round.
  • A full set of washers must be returned at the end of each game.

Scoring

  • 5 points – Washer lands in the cup (ringer)
  • 3 points – Washer hanging over the cup (leaner; no daylight required)
  • 1 point – Washer closest to the cup but not in the cup

Scoring Note:
The scoring player receives points for all washers closer to the cup than the opponent’s closest washer.


Match Length & Format

  • Games end at 15 points or 30 minutes, whichever occurs first.
  • Championship game plays to 21 points with no time limit.

Match Call & Forfeits

  • Teams will be announced three (3) times when it is their turn to play.
  • Teams must report within 5 minutes or will forfeit their match.
  • No phone calls or text notifications will be made.

Amenities & Conduct

  • Water will be available at the beverage station in the food court.
  • Free food will be served in the food court.
  • Please note that those in the pit area cannot serve food or beverages to spectators but you can bring for your team.
  • Entry fee includes two (2) event t-shirts, available at registration with wristbands.
  • Team leaders are responsible for their team’s conduct.
  • Teams exhibiting excessive alcohol use or confrontational behavior may be removed and not invited back, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
