DMCA & Content Removal
We respect copyright and we don't tolerate stolen photos. If content that belongs to you has been posted on Chickslover without permission, here's how to get it taken down quickly.
The short version
- Found your photos used without permission? Send us the listing URL plus proof, and we'll remove them — usually within 24–48 hours.
- Genuine requests are handled fast and free.
- Filing a knowingly false claim is illegal — please only report content you actually own or are authorised to act for.
Our approach to copyright
Chickslover is a directory of listings posted by independent users — we don't create the content ourselves. That said, we take copyright seriously. When we receive a valid removal request, we act on it promptly, in line with the principles of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and applicable law.
How to request a takedown
To remove content you own, send us a notice that includes all of the following. Missing details only slow things down:
- Your name and contact details (email, and ideally a phone number).
- A clear description of the copyrighted work — for example, the original photos and where they were first published.
- The exact URL(s) of the infringing content on Chickslover, so we can find it immediately.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by you, the copyright owner, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Where to send it
Send your notice through our contact page and choose the copyright / content-removal option (or simply include the word "DMCA" in your message). We monitor these requests closely.
What happens after you report
Once we receive a complete notice, we review it and — where it's valid — remove or disable the content promptly, typically within 24–48 hours. We'll also let the person who posted it know that their content was removed and why.
If your content was removed by mistake
If you posted content and believe it was removed in error or through a false claim, you can send a counter-notification. Please include:
- Your name and contact details.
- Identification of the content that was removed and the URL where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts, and your signature.
We may restore the content if the original complainant doesn't take the matter further within a reasonable time.
Stolen photos and impersonation
Copyright isn't the only reason to pull a listing. If someone is using your photos or identity without consent — even if you aren't the original photographer — tell us through the contact page. We treat impersonation and non-consensual content as a priority and remove it quickly.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly post infringing or stolen content are suspended and removed. We keep records of valid notices so we can enforce this.
A note on false claims
DMCA notices carry legal weight. Submitting a notice you know to be false — for example, to take down a competitor's genuine listing — is unlawful and can make you liable for damages. Please report only content you genuinely own or are authorised to represent. See our Terms & Conditions for more.
