Have a news tip?

Do you have a story you want to share with the Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ? There are a variety of ways to contact our journalists.

What makes a good news tip?

You are the eyes and ears of our community. Our reporters are talking with neighbors everyday, but we cannot be everywhere all of the time, which is why your news tip is essential to our reporting.

A strong news tip is specific, well-documented and clearly explained. They are supported by evidence, such as your own eyewitness account or documentation you can provide. Opinions, rumors and speculation do not make for strong news tips.

In order for Sun-Times and WBEZ journalists to follow up on your tip, you must leave us some way to contact you directly. While we work to respond to tipsters, we receive many tips and will not follow up on every one.
