Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last Thursday I stole Overall, I've been naughty (-234 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich! Sincerely, |

Well the All-Star break is here and will be gone tomorrow. I was happy to see that my boys picked things up in the last few weeks and went into the break only 2 games behind the first place A's. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going their way when they hit the field on Friday.
Way back in April I posted about a job change, well the change did in fact happen. I started my temporary assignment the second week of April. It was supposed to be for 2 months, but then I got word that they were extending me until mid September (guess they liked me!). Well now it is pretty solid that they will be keeping me permanently. I am waiting to hear from big boss lady for the details, but hopefully everything is said and done by the end of the month. I have been with Disney for a little over 10 years. It started out as a job to get through college but has now evolved into something that can be my career. I really do love working for the company - the perks are great.
My birthday is coming up next Thursday the 20th. I don't have any plans at the moment though. Maybe I will get some friends together and have a BBQ or something at my house or at a restaurant (Lucille's was quite yummy the other day). I have never been big on birthdays, I guess because nobody has ever really made much of a fuss about it in the past. Jennifer (my best friend) is probably one of the few who really goes all out for me (thanks buddy!). Oh and my sister-in-law Aura is always up for a party, except when she tried to do that last year, it was not quite to my liking (long story).
Ok, so I met a guy. I don't want to get too excited too soon, but he really does seem to be the right fit ( for lack of a better phrase). He's tall, Hispanic (which the parents love…lol), and he is driven. Very sweet/great guy. We've only gone on a couple dates but we get along well - very easy to talk to AND he seems to tolerate my baseball fanaticism (is that a word?). Then again July will be a fairly baseball-light month, so the true test will come later in the season…hehe. Anyway, wish me luck!

Extremely serious and a little eccentric, people find you loveable - even if you don't love them! You are usually feeling: Logical - you rarely let your emotions rule you You are famous for: Being smart, a total neat freak, and maybe just a little evil How you life your life: With passion, even if your odd passions (like bottle caps and pigeons) are baffling to others |
You're sporty, yet practical, and you have a style of your own. You like to have fun, and you like to bring friends along for the ride, but when it comes time for everyday chores, you're willing to do your part.

Wow...I certainly have left my journal abandoned the last couple months. A few things have been keeping me busy actually.
Can I just say that I miss baseball! At least we got to see Adam Kennedy recently, when he was interviewed at ESPN Zone for the Angels Clubhouse radio show. Unfortunately, shortly after that, we were advised that FanFest will not be happening this year. Darn that WBC. It will be great to get back into the swing of things come April...that's for sure. I just hope work doesn't keep me too busy that I miss a lot of games.
The holidays were great. Mom and I did get to make tamales....what was supposed to be a one day deal, developed into a week long event. Mom got so into it that she decided to make more batches than originally intended. They were delicious though...from the pork and chicken to the sweet ones...too bad they are all gone now...LOL. Besides reinforcing some cultural holiday traditions, the holidays were pretty quiet. For New Year's Eve we headed to Sunshine's house for a little soiree. Sunshine is Jennifer Tingler's (co-worker/friend) best friend. About 8 of us got together and had food, drink, and watched movies. Ended up sleeping over to avoid any driving in the middle of the night. Needless to say, it was probably the most fun I have had on New Years to-date.
Work is still keeping me busy....although we haven't done much traveling lately (Thank Goodness!). Between training a new cast member for our team (yeah, this is in addition to the 7 I trained back in Nov/Dec....our call center has been so swamped that we are all taking phone calls. Good thing the training put me up to speed on how to make those reservations...heheh.
In the past couple weeks, my parents finally made the decision they have been contemplating with over the past 4-5 years. They put the house up for sale. This of course means major house cleaning and packing to make the house "Open House ready". Although I do like to save quite a few things...my mom is so bad. She can't let go of anything!! Even if it is older than me! Oh well, 20 years of stuff for the storage unit I guess. The house does look good though. You don't realize how much you have collected over the years until something like this happens.
Since we had an open house last weekend, I finally hit the movies on Saturday. Since I was with mom, I didn't think it too prudent to go to Brokeback Mountain. So instead, I finally saw "Walk the Line". I loved the movie...hopefully I can see it again, otherwise I am still planning to buy it when it comes out to DVD. Sunday was a blast too because I went to Disneyland with Jennifer and her friends. Check out some of the pics at halos_heaven.
Oooh...and tonight I am heading to L.A. for the Ricky Martin Concert!! Going to meet up with a childhood friend and have dinner out there before the show. I haven't seen Ricky in concert since before he released Livin' La Vida Loca!! Should be fun.
Well I think that pretty much sums up my past several weeks of absence. Hopefully it's not another 10 weeks before I post again...LOL
The last few weeks have truly been a blur. On my last weekend off before this horrible stretch of working 13 days straight, I had my 10 year high school reunion. I found out a couple days before the event that some of the people I still keep in touch with were not going to the party. Well, unfortunately it turned out that not many of the girls from PC in general showed up. Let me explain about my school. I went to a small Catholic *all girls* school. Since our class was so small and we had a brother and sister school, the reunion committee decided to make it a tri-school event. Well I guess not many of the girls from my school found it worth going to the reunion...either they couldn't afford it or didn't want to deal with it. Anywhoo...one couple I was very happy to see was Rosa and Juan Carlos. It's funny to think I used to have a big crush on him back in the day, but he looks just as good as he did then...lol. JC is actually cousins with someone I was good friends with in school (Marina)...well Rosa met JC a couple years after I did but they really hit it off and now they are married. JC is a cop and Rosa is a few months shy of her Masters in Psychology...pretty impressive. So, needless to say, I sat with them all evening and did a lot of catching up. I didn't run into any of the guys I knew from our brother school (Damien High) but the guys that were there were the stereotypical "let's get drunk at our high school reunion" kind of guys. So in a nutshell, my saving grace were Rosa, Juan Carlos, and Diana Berumen, who was also at our table. We'll see if the 20 year is any better...LOL
So once that weekend was over, it was all about work work work!! We had another successful AEP, all-be-it, quite stressful with some details not being confirmed until last minute....but all went well. Patricia (our boss) left on vacation Sunday night so I had to take the lead for once she was gone. Luckily I am getting more and more comfortable with these events as we have more of them. Besides the AEP, Martha and I are currently on week two of our training class. We have a good group so it seems they are catching on pretty well. At the moment we left them a bit overwhelmed with airfare details, but I am confident they will be on track for the next topic.
Ok so enough about work...heheh I guess the Angels will have to find a new bench coach...and from what Jennifer said, a roving pitching and catching coach as well if Joe Maddon does indeed take those guys with him to the Devil Rays. After Jen filled me in on the latest regarding Paul Byrd, I am getting a bit nervous about him not signing with the Angels for next season. I hope I don't have to go from loving to bitching about the guy...that would be sad. Paul...just sign with us already!! Oh and I just read that Brandon Wood still has a hot bat after playing in the AFL and now playing on the Olympic qualifying team. Go BW!!
Ahh...so I suppose I should wrap up. I can't wait for Sunday (finally a day off...I have almost forgotten what those are like). Then we have Thanksgiving weekend which should be busy but fun and relaxing. Jen...be ready to start working on that kaos....LOL.
