You can try Shogi (Japanese Chess), Xiangqui (Chinese Chess), Janggi (Korean Chess), Makruk (Thai Chess) and more. These games have all been styled to look like the Chess you are used to, making it easier to learn for beginners. A journey through the history of Chess Travel back to where it all began, 6th century India, and try Chaturanga, the original Chess. See the games it developed into as it spread across the globe. Play Courier Chess like a 12th century European or test your skills at Tamerlane Chess. Delve into ancient Shogi and experience the progression through different eras of Japanese history. Enjoy a marathon game of the massive Dai Shogi or a quick game of Mini-Shogi. You can even play Hnefatafl, the Chess of the Vikings. In the first major update of 2024 we are bringing you many new features and improvements. The main priority of this release is to help you understand how pieces move better. Many pieces now include a diagram displaying the movement. This gives you a simple, quick, visual way of learning new pieces. This feature will continue expanding in future releases. You can now also tap on an opponents piece and see what moves it can make. Another new feature is Remix Levels. Play through challenges designed to help you learn to use different pieces and play different games. Levels will allow you to play through this history of Chess. The first phase of this is Chaturanga. We have also added an analysis screen. At the end of games you can view the game and determine the important moves that helped you win or that you should have avoided. Many of these enhancements are based upon user feedback, thank you for your suggestions and helping to make Chess Remix even better.
