How does the unit system work?

Each paid API call consumes units from your monthly allowance — most endpoints cost 1 unit, while screening endpoints cost 3 units. Autocomplete suggestions and suburb search are always free and never consume units. Units reset at the start of each billing period.

What happens if I exceed my unit limit?

Once your monthly units are exhausted, API calls that consume units will return a 429 response until the next billing period. Autocomplete search (0-cost) continues working uninterrupted.

Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?

Yes. You can move between plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period.

What is audit log retention?

Every API call is logged with a timestamp, endpoint, query, and result summary. Free accounts retain 30 days of history. Starter retains 1 year. Business retains 2 years. Enterprise retains 7 years — aligning with the 7-year record-keeping requirement under the AML/CTF Act 2006 for designated reporting entities.

What is bulk processing?

Bulk processing lets you submit lists of records — addresses, ABNs, emails, etc. — for asynchronous validation. Results are available via webhook or polling. Available on Business and Enterprise plans.
