Easter Sunday
Sunday, April 5 from
8, 9:30, & 11:30a (1 hour in length)
Celebrate Easter with us as we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus. The resurrection is at the heart of the Christian faith because it represents victory over sin and death and the promise of forgiveness, restoration, and new life. This uplifting service will include music, Scripture readings, and a message about the hope we have through Him—a hope that reminds us that brokenness does not have the final word. Whether you’ve been to church before or not, you are welcome here.
Child programming is available for children ages 3 and under.
Prepare Your Heart for Easter
Good Friday
Friday, April 3 at 4p (1 hour in length)
Good Friday is the day Christians remember the crucifixion of Jesus—when He was put to death on a cross. It is called “good” because Christians believe His sacrifice demonstrated God’s deep love and made forgiveness and reconciliation possible. This service marks the solemn moment in the Easter story before the celebration of resurrection on Sunday.
Through music, Scripture readings, prayer, and quiet reflection, we will create space to consider the weight of this day and the meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice. The tone of the evening is reverent and contemplative as we pause together and look ahead to the hope of Easter.
Easter Baptisms
Saturday, April 4
During the 4p service
Sunday, April 5
During the 8, 9:30, 11:30a services
Baptism is a public celebration of someone’s decision to follow Jesus. It symbolizes a fresh start—leaving an old way of life behind and stepping into a new life of faith. Christians view baptism as an outward expression of an inward commitment. It is important to know that baptism itself does not save a person; rather, it is a way of going public with their faith and sharing that decision with their church community.
The atmosphere is joyful and celebratory. You’ll likely hear applause, music, and encouragement from the congregation as we support and celebrate each person taking this meaningful step.
Everything You Need to Know about Easter at Cherry Hills
What is "Easter" all about?
Easter is the most significant day of the year for Christians. It celebrates the “resurrection” — the belief that Jesus rose from the dead three days after his death. For us, this represents hope, forgiveness, and the idea that even in the darkest times, new life is possible. We celebrate because it’s a story of fresh starts for everyone, no matter their background.
What is a church service actually like?
Our Easter service typically lasts about 60–65 minutes. We start with modern music led by a live band, followed by a few readings and a message from our Senior Pastor, Curt Taylor. There will also be some people being baptized.
If you’ve never heard Curt speak before, you’ll find his style very down-to-earth and conversational. He won’t be “preaching at” you; instead, he shares the story of Easter in a way that is easy to understand and relevant to your everyday life—whether you’ve been to church a thousand times or this is your very first visit.
Is there something for my kids?
Yes! We love families.
Saturday Service: This is a family-style service. Afterward, we host egg hunts and fun activities for the kids.
Sunday Services: We offer safe, fun childcare for children ages 3 and under. Older children are welcome to join you in the main service, and we provide coloring books and crayons to help keep them engaged.
Safety: All of our children’s volunteers are background-checked, and we have a dedicated security team on-site guarding our kids area.
Check-in: Look for the “Kids” entrance on the Northeast side of the building for easy access, or ask a staff member or volunteer to help you find your way.
What should I do when I arrive?
Once you head to the doors, our greeters will say hello and help you find the Worship Center, restrooms, or kids’ areas. You can sit anywhere you like, including the balcony; there is no reserved seating.
What should I wear to Easter service?
There is no dress code at Cherry Hills—we really mean that. You’ll see a mix of everything: some people dress up in suits or dresses, while others wear jeans, hoodies, and sneakers.
Have tattoos or brightly dyed hair? You’ll fit right in. Many of our regular attenders (and even some of our staff) have ink and colorful hair. We care about you being here, not what’s on your skin or how you style your hair. Wear whatever makes you feel like you, and you’ll be welcomed.
Do I have to sing or participate?
Not at all. While the music is modern and many people like to sing along, you are more than welcome to just sit, listen, and observe. There is zero pressure to participate in any way that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Why do people get baptized?
Baptism is a high-energy, joyful celebration where someone chooses to “go public” with their faith. At Cherry Hills, this usually happens right after the music and just before Pastor Curt Taylor shares his message.
What does it look like? An elder and a staff member will join the individual in a baptism pool on stage. After they share a few brief words about their journey, the person is gently lowered under the water and then lifted back up.
What does it mean? Being immersed in water is a powerful symbol of a “clean slate.” It represents an old life being buried and a brand-new life beginning. It’s one of the happiest moments in our service, so please feel free to clap and cheer along with us!
Do I need to give money?
No. If you are visiting us for Easter, please do not feel any pressure to give. Financial giving is something our regular members do to support the work of the church; as our guest, your presence is the only gift we’d like!
What if I’m not sure what I believe?
That is perfectly okay. Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or just looking for a sense of hope, you are welcome here. Easter is a great time to explore faith at your own pace and ask questions.
Where do I park?
Main North Lot: Accessible via Grace Boulevard.
South Lot: A smaller lot accessible via Fairview Parkway.
Is the campus secure?
Your safety is a top priority. In addition to our staff and safety volunteers, we have professional police officers on-site to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for you and your family.
