I gained a Degree in Financial Services which is where I learnt about financial advice which, if you didn’t know, can be life changing.
Simple and compound interest had been covered at school but there was nothing mentioned about how it could miraculously change your life. But when you consider it in relation to investing now that is different. This is when I realised that if I had a pot of money, I could invest it, to generate an income and I could live off that instead of working. Having started work at the earliest opportunity, the fact that I could have an income, but not have to work was mind blowing! Why isn’t everyone talking about this?
Of course the stumbling block is that you need to have a pot of money, but that is where financial advice comes in. Good financial advice is how you build the pot.
With nearly 30 years’ experience in financial services and 18 years within financial advice both in the UK and the IOM Jo is experienced in all areas of financial planning, protection, investments, and pensions and has dealt with a wide range of business and private clients on financial planning matters.
As a Financial Planner, Jo has three essential roles.
- Life Planner: Establish where you are in your life right now, how you got there and where you want to be in the future.
- Financial Planner: Assess your resources, both those available now and in the future and by using a cashflow planning tool demonstrate what your future looks like now and what it could look like.
- Financial Advice: Recommend and implement cost effective and tax efficient products, investments and services to keep you safe and grow your wealth.
Emma Skillicorn FICA
Head of Compliance & MLRO
Emma has amassed a wide range of experience in compliance roles gained across multiple regulated financial services sectors on the island more latterly including the Fund and Trust and Corporate Services sectors. She also spent a number of years with the local regulator, supervising a diverse range of financial services businesses.
Emma has a diverse skillset including compliance, risk, and corporate governance with extensive experience and knowledge gained over the last 33 years; I know she doesn’t look old enough.
