Sunday writing prompt
Tonight, gather up missing animals. If possible, bring a friend or two. If nobody's around, make some new friends!
Why did I agree to this? Avanariel asked herself as she trudged through the growing darkness of the forest looking for the escaped mounts from the stables. Not too far off Cofera walked a little ways away, distracting her as usual. They weren't speaking to one another, not since the day he punched Decadray but at the moment they were both working together to round up the mounts that someone had scared away last night with a fire in the stables.
The culprit was still unknown, but whoever it was, certainly had put Cofera in a bad mood. He stomped and crashed his way through the forest, hardly noticing the damage his single minded march was doing to the forest around him, and he was an elf.
Again, she forced herself to ignore him. She needed to find her horse Solanyr and the other mounts before they became appetizers for the wild animals of the forests. Thinking of her golden horse turning into some creature's dinner was almost as bad as thinking about him. Again her gaze drifted towards Cofera. Feeling frustrated, she slipped off, intent on heading an entirely different direction. With luck they would find the animals soon and then they could all go home.
Tilting her head back, she brought her fingers to her lips and let out a shrill whistle, hoping that Solanyr would hear it.
