It's currently just past 2:00 a.m. (Marilyn is fast asleep on the sofa.)
I just had a huge sneezing fit upstairs while gathering garbage. This week was not real garbage week (as we call it), as they only took recycling and composting (and NOT the actual garbage). But we had piles of garbage that needed to go out to the can, so... (Actually, I only took out part of it, and still need to do the downstairs garbage.)
I finally just did Johnnie's catbox in my bedroom and the other catboxes (Colin and Henry's) that are in the laundry room.
Late tonight I decided to cook fried tomatoes (green, orange and red) and zucchini, with quinoa (in place of rice). Then I cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes.
I gave Johnnie some cat toys and he went nuts playing with them! It was so cute. It always the sign that you've finally made an outdoor cat into an indoor cat. Outdoor cats will rarely ever play with toys. They have to be serious about survival. Poor things! But once cats feel safe they can relax and play -- and Johnnie is a perfect example.
This morning I set up our new Comcast/Xfinity gateway equipment that came in the mail yesterday. (By the way, they just left this big box on the center of the porch and never knocked or rang the bell!!! It's a wonder it wasn't stolen!)
What a PAIN it was. I finally tried calling about it and went directly to a message about it -- a clear sign they're having a bunch of trouble with all their clients.
It didn't finish up until this evening! Very weird that they had to send out totally new, free equipment for us to set up ourselves!
And they want the old equipment returned. Um, that could happen! You get a $10 credit if you return it. Are they kidding??? Absolutely not worth Marilyn's time, that's for sure! I did pack it up, but they can forget the rest. (And what do they want that old equipment for, anyway?) Come and get it if you want it, then.
I did sleep really hard aat one point today. I even slept through my pain meds alarm (!!!), if you can believe that!
But I don't sleep well at night ever it seems. Mostly the pain keeps me awake. But I read yesterday that Gabapentin has the side effect of insomnia. I guess that's no surprise! Haha.
Thursday (Sept. 20) I went to see my nurse practitioner yesterday -- time for my monthly follow-up and drug renewal. She had a student there and asked if she could bring her in, which we agreed to (of course). She was anxious to share my entire experience with her. What was very clear was how much Leslie appreciates what I've been going through.
So after discussion, Leslie decided I should start on Lyrica (Pregabalin). I've been resistant because of the side effects, but reading more I discovered it probably will manage my pain better. It was covered by insurance, so we'll soon find out...
Work tomorrow (Saturday) at the festival. More nominating. Steven promised me waffles! Can't wait.
Good night and sweet dreams all. - Feeling:accomplished

Marilyn and I were at work by 7:30 this morning -- not bad, huh? We had a very busy work day, each of us. Wanda gave her notice last week during our vacation. So I'm 'training' so I can cover until we replace her. Hahaha! No. I do NOT really know how to man the front desk. But I did begin there, way back when. I used to be the assistant receptionist at one point. I've actually avoided learning any of this work in recent years, I have to admit. Since this 'new' building -- moving in back in 2010 -- I've never really learned the 'new' phone system. I do the back end setup work, but barely even use my phone (I have no call, honestly). So now I'm learning the switchboard phones that are at the front desk. These can be used via computer, but I prefer the manual use on the phones themselves. I find it hard to see the small print on the computer screens... I've always been bad at the Ricoh (our copier), and at the printers, as well -- these are run by the receptionist/office manager. After Marilyn got out of her early meeting I went to Starbucks with some of the other 'girls' -- Carol, Kate and Maleah. Marilyn didn't go, as she didn't want to go out in the smoke. Because of local wildfires, we've been having terrible air quality issues! Marilyn has had asthma her entire life, plus allergies, so... After that Wanda and I started training. Then when Kara came in, I sat in with Marilyn while she interviewed. She was recommended by Kate, and shows a lot of promise. We'll see if she's interested or not. I made a website change, which I actually could do via my iPad. It amazes me how easy it is to do website work on the device, as opposed to the computer. Donn is coming in tomorrow. Marilyn and I had lunch with Marcia today -- Marilyn's monthly lunch with her and Gail (Gail wasn't able to come). We three went to the Spaghetti Factory. A lovely lunch. Wanda and I did aa little more training after lunch... Mostly I worked at my desk in the afternoon. At 5:00 Nominating Interviews began. Wanda left at 5:00. Interesting note: Wanda is taking off both Thursday and Friday. (She did not ask for them off in advance, Marilyn confirmed later. She just took them off...) We got home around 7:30, anyway. I made tuna sandwiches for dinner. Marilyn didn't really enjoy them, I'm afraid. Johnnie was very glad to see me tonight, sweet cat! While doing my part for Nominating -- Greeting nominees -- I spent some time texting back and forth with our friend Shari. That was fun, catching up with her. It's nearly 2:00 now, so we need to get to bed. I'm tired tonight, as I'm not used to working a full day at the office. But I'll be fine. My back hurts tonight, partly because I was napping and was late taking my pain meds at midnight (sigh). Being upright all day is hard on my back, as I normally would spend at least part of the day lying or reclining. Straightback chairs are tough since the shingles. We picked up my medications at Riteaid after work. - Feeling:good

Conrad Grayson's Birthday! (woo hoo) Just an aside. (smile) The last day of September! Where did the month go? Where the hell did SUMMER go??? (sigh) Marilyn and I were UP EARLY and off to the office. Today was nominating and Marilyn was EXTREMELY BUSY with no one to assist her! Crazy. She has so much work it's ridiculous!!! I did what I could in very SMALL ways, though. And everybody came in for the interviews and discussion. Steven made breakfast: waffles, sausages and fresh fruit (nice). I sat at the front desk as the Greeter (I've done it many times over the years). Peter M. came in at 9:30 and Carla at 10:00. Discussion was supposed to go until noon but ran much longer. Marilyn continued to work until around 2:45 p.m. My hips HURT LIKE HELL today, which is not unusual. It takes a few days (to a week) for the shots to really kick in. In the meantime they can hurt worse than previously. I decided to tackle the MailChimp problem I've been dealing with and somehow (!!!) managed to discover where to make the change ALL BY MYSELF!!! (woo hoo) I was so delighted! So now I don't need help from David at Fish. I've got it fixed and tested it and it's working GREAT!!! So we're good to go. Honestly, sometimes I amaze myself. Partly that I'm a 'dog with a bone' until I reason this stuff out. I would have been fine with having someone else do the entire thing, if it had come to that. But I was totally able to do it, as it turned out. So... I was a 'boo boo kitty' at one point today, wrapping my leather jacket over my chilled hips and legs. Hahaha. What a goon! But once I got wrapped up in the work that went by the wayside. We got Dairy Queen on the way home to eat (chili dogs). We got an ice cream cake, too. Hahaha. Celebrating our Revenge bday, of course. So like us. We often celebrate character bdays at our house! I got a new App game and tried it today. It seems very simple but it's deceptive! Fun, anyway. Hahaha. I think it's probably very hard to get good at. My allergies were making me NUTS today. That 'yellow junk' that comes out of the trees in autumn was EVERYWHERE and I was sneezing and my ears and throat were itching and I was just ugh. I had to take a pill when we got home! My tongue is itching right now... I had a good nap to make up for not sleeping well last night, right after watching The Wild, Wild West on METV. I was back up in time for the end of Svengoolie and to see Batman, though. And a good ep of Star Trek, too. Then we ate ice cream cake. And I made some popcorn to continue our 'celebration.' Time to head to bed. More to do tomorrow!!! It's certainly a busy time right now. Sweet dreams, friends. - Feeling:accomplished

What did I just spend the last 15 minutes doing? Replacing one of my two dual monitors. Specifically the PRIMARY monitor, meaning NO, I couldn't just wait and do it later. Hahaha. I couldn't do ANYTHING until I got it replaced. (sigh) The GOOD news? Fortunately (woo hoo) I had a SPARE to use to replace it! I knew I had two down at the beach house, but I wasn't sure I even had one here at the Portland house. So it was a real break that I did. And interestingly enough: The former (dead) monitor was a Dell, while this one is an Acer. And my secondary monitor is also an Acer, so they now match! That's not all that important, but it's cool... I'm in a HUGE HURRY to get my blogging done, as that MAGIC MIDNIGHT HOUR is quickly approaching. And if you play SimCity BuildIt, you MUST play between midnight and one o'clock. I'm NOT kidding. That's when all the very best stuff for the entire day happens... Marilyn had a super-long day with a four-hour meeting ending it. She didn't get home until around 9:00. I was dead asleep and the phone woke me from quite the nightmare! It's still VIVID in my mind, actually, hours later! She had nominating to deal with today, which is tons of work. She didn't even get a chance to write her speech for Thursday night (she'll do that tomorrow). The good news is that we'll be in uniform for the event -- and she came back on her way to work to pick up our jackets to get them to the cleaner. Her wonderful dry cleaner promised them for tomorrow (she's been going to him for years and years now). Sue and I did NOT going shopping. I just didn't feel up to it, in all honesty. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow -- we plan to go in the morning... Yesterday we went shopping at Chico's at the Woodburn Premium Outlets (in Woodburn, Oregon). Marilyn got several items there (pants and blouses), so I'd call that a successful trip! But boy, did it wear us out! She wore one of her new tops to work today -- very cute, with stripes! (I picked it out.) I actually talked to Rich today for around an hour. We have a project we're working on together, but we ended up just chatting today. I'm going to read over his document tomorrow so we can discuss it. And happily he's going to be there Thursday night! (But we both agreed that will NOT be a time for anything work-related...) I did pick up in the kitchen and do a load of dishes today, at least. I spent most of the day up, though I admit I didn't do much. And I was nauseous in the afternoon and evening, so I ended up with low blood sugar yet again. (sigh) I can't seem to get that balanced right now. After all, I'm on a higher dose of BOTH my diabetes medications (double for BOTH) -- and I've been sick for weeks and weeks, and just not that hungry. So it just hasn't been easy. I'll get there, I'm sure. I texted with Adeena (miss her!) today. And sister Sue and I talked more than once. I tried to call June, but missed her. I finally got her Donn's home address today (I promised that ages ago!), so I both called and emailed her, but didn't hear back. I hope everything is okay with her! I talked a little bit with Christine today, too. Anxious to see her (it's been so long), and to chat more about her son Zander... Watched a show about "Star Trek" (part of it) that was really good! Have any of you watched the TV series " Gaycation" on Viceland??? I saw it today and was very moved. (Yes, I cried.) I saw about an episode and a half. I want to see more, for sure... And that's ALL the time I have!!! Sleep well and stay healthy. - Feeling:optimistic

I got up around 9:00 (or just before -- I honestly can't remember). I think it was another one of those 'Henry thinks I should wake up' mornings, to tell you the truth. Hahaha. He just did that to me tonight, too. I was lying down 'napping' after a late dinner. And suddenly he's SCREAMING next to me on the bed (and it's well past midnight). He seemed to settle down without much reaction from me, as I fell back asleep for around half an hour before finally dragging myself up... I almost phoned June in the early morning, but didn't expect her to be awake (she usually isn't awake until noon or later). But she called me around 10:00-ish. She was unhappy with her iPad and said it was messed up. I told her I'd come over, but she would have to run the AC, as I can abide the heat right now. (I'm constantly running a fever of around 100'...) She agreed, so I got dressed, put on my contacts and headed over. I took my purse -- so I could easily carry my stuff (ipads and so on). She could figure out how to turn on the AC, so I helped her and we cooled things down. I couldn't figure out WHY her iPad and iPhone were asking AGAIN for her Comcast password (that we just recently changed). But I went through setting it up yet again. She'd been upset because the iPad was on the second 'page' (screen), rather than the first one. I showed her how she could tell where she was. You know, they should make some of those things EASIER to see! Those tiny dots might work for teens, but older people need the option to see things a little bigger. Say what you will, there's still a lot of ageism in devices (more so than computers). And we set up some folders and bookmarks, and some 'desktop' bookmark icons, too. All helpful. Eventually it appears we've got her set up, so I head home. Forget to take my purse (it was on the floor so I didn't see), have to go back and get it and then head home (again). Later on she calls me because she's getting the pop up message AGAIN about Comcast!!! She comes over her because they aren't running the air at her house. (Jim prefers not to -- not sure if June agrees with that or not.) TODAY WAS VERY HOT, just to be clear. I had the air on all day. Also, the huge spring that opens their garage door has broken! I remember when that happened to Marilyn and me! It's pretty awful. So they can't get their car out of the garage. Jim had an appointment with his doctor and had to borrow a car to go... So June comes over and I end up phoning Donn because I'm frustrated about the Comcast thing. He points out that I changed the password for her (I did), so that wasn't his work. We're talking for ages about it. She has a Comcast email account (her primary account), plus a Gmail (Google) email account -- where the Comcast email FORWARDS to it. She runs the Comcast account through her default iPad email, and uses the Gmail App to get it. She was getting her email, but couldn't SEND! I'm pleased I finally realized you have to set up the new password for outgoing -- it's more like setting up an Outlook email on your computer, in other words. Donn kept asking about setting a default email on your iPad -- and I have to admit I didn't know how (or that you even could do it). So both Donn and I had 'wins' today -- and learned a thing or two. The crazy thing is just how much there IS to be learning constantly! Hahaha. June came over around 3:00 and was there until 6:00, but we did get a lot done. I had been planning to have a late lunch, but obviously that didn't happen. No problem, as I'm never hungry at lunch now, anyway... I did have yogurt for breakfast, though, so I had eaten. Marilyn and I ate when she finally got home (past 7:30) -- and one of the things we had was the last of the corn on the cob (so yummy!!!). I didn't get any of my chores done. I didn't color my hair. I need to do laundry (maybe tomorrow). I could just sleep much of the day away, I have to admit. So I was proud to spend so many hours actually DOING something today. I spent a bunch of time on my work email. We get THOUSANDS of SPAM emails daily. So either Junk Mail or our special SPAM blocker catches most of it -- but you have to check it all, as it does have false positives. And checking thousands of items TAKES TIME, believe me. I now have my email at work down to under 100 items in the Inbox! (woo hoo) That's a lot of work. (Now I need to do that here at home... sigh...) Well, that's my Friday! Marilyn had a hard, busy day at work. But as she's now on vacation, we knew that would be true! Last year she had to work on the first Sunday of this same vacation, so she was trying to avoid that this year. She sent out the email with the Call for Nominations -- it's a ton of work (multiple documents). Great job! On a sad note, Marilyn got word from Rick that Dale (a former board member) passed last week. It was certainly his time, but it hurt my heart to think of losing him. I guess in reality we lost him years back, as he hasn't been functional in ages. What a wonderful man Dale was. Recently it was Bill, so now that's two... (sigh) I've taken my night pills and pulled out my contacts (which were glued to my eyeballs). So now I'm ready for bed. It's well past 3:00 a.m. We were watching Harry Potter movies earlier. FreeForm is featuring them for his 'birthday weekend' (his bday is July 31, as most of you probably know!). What WONDERFUL movies! They are a joy to watch, no doubt about it. Not as much fun with commercials, though. And we were watching some House Hunters on HGTV just now. And we like the new We Bought the Farm series on HGTV, too. (It's on right now.) I was in a lot of pain most of the day, but it's better right now (not sure why). I'll be glad to see the doctor on Monday. Goodnight, friends. - Feeling:accomplished

First, today was a WORK day for Marilyn (and me, too). We went in to the office early for a Nominating day. There were seven people interviewing today for positions on our Board. Marilyn, Jeff and Ashley were there to represent the Staff (Marilyn leads Nominating). Arthur, Brett, Leslie, Teri, Jeff and Dave were there from the Board. I was working the front desk, greeting each candidate as they arrived. I had to let them in (we always have a locked door) and have them sit in the lobby area. Then I like to visit with each person and help them to relax. They're generally nervous before the interview. And I knew a few of the people, so of course that made it easy to make conversation with those individuals. I'm outgoing, so it's also easy for me to be friendly with strangers. The strange thing today? I managed to leave my cell phone home. It was sitting out in the living room, so I don't know how I could have gone out of the house without it! I used the Find My iPhone App on my iPad to make sure that's where it was (easily confirmed). And I just had to live with it... I organized a couple of drawers in Marilyn's office while I was there. I've been going to do that for ages. Anyway, once I'd greeted all seven people, my role was done. So I did the drawers, then headed upstairs to my own space so I could do some work there. Nominating was completely done by a quarter to 2:00 -- our plan all along was to leave by 2:00 to go to Rich and Merlin's house for their reception barbecue. Their wedding was today and they had LOVELY weather for it! I guess several people from work showed up, even though a bunch of us couldn't because of work (Marilyn, Jeff, Carol, Ashley and me). Anyway, Marilyn and I got to hear all about it at the reception. It really wasn't hard to find the house. We'd been a little worried, but it was simple. They have a small house, but it's really nice! And their yard is amazing. They've really worked hard on their home and it shows. We'd originally planned to just drop by and offer greetings and good wishes, give them our card and leave. (It's been a long, hard week.) But we had SUCH A GOOD TIME that we stayed for three hours! It was a small group of people, but we all had a lovely time visiting with each other. And Rich cooked chicken on the barbecue (with a lot of help from the other men there). Plus there were two salads, fresh corn on the cob, olives, chips and clam dip and garlic bread. People were drinking champagne (including me) and wine (including Marilyn -- who doesn't do champagne) and eating lots of helpings of food. (Yes, they had bottled water and soda, too, but most of us weren't drinking that.) Good company, lovely surroundings, good food and lots to drink -- it was a great party! And, yeah, I drank WAY TOO MUCH CHAMPAGNE. (smile) And I don't feel even a little guilty about that. Their daughter, Jenny, had come from across country with her family to be at the wedding. She's quite a character. Very outgoing and different. There was music at her insistence, and she was frequently dancing around the yard. She's a professional masseuse, and gave some full massages, plus walked around the yard and rubbed many shoulders and backs. When she got to me (just as we were leaving), she knew just by LOOKING AT ME that I had a bad hip! Isn't that fascinating? One of the women we met there wants to get together and do something with Marilyn and me. Actually, we sat with two women and they were both amazing and fun! Anyway, we came home and were watching a little TV and I kept falling asleep sitting up. Both of us were tired, so we finally just took long naps. We'd thought about maybe going to Walmart tonight, but when we woke up, we just decided we weren't up for it. It's time for bed and we're both tired tonight. It was a long day after a long week. We need to go in to the office again tomorrow. Beyond that, I'm not really sure what we'll do on Sunday or Monday. We've talked about several possibilities, so we'll see... Final note: Marilyn wants me to get a new iPad. I'm having so many issues with the old ones I use. I guess it's time... - Feeling:happy

This was an emotional day for me. I cried several times from sheer joy. I can't get over how moving it is having the Holy Father in the United States. The 911 Memorial service this morning was amazing. I was sobbing when the children sang "Let There Be Peace On Earth," as I'm sure many others did, as well. And it felt like I was there for the mass at Madison Square Garden. I loved his Homily, based on one of my favorite Bible verses. On has to marvel at his energy and strength! He must be exhausted, dealing with jet lag and his unbelievably busy schedule (to say nothing of his age). Anyway, all of his appearances today were impressive. He was so delightful at the Harlem school he visited! He's just wonderful with children. With everyone, actually. Marilyn came home for lunch. I made her soup and toasted cheese sands. We had (store bought) burritos for dinner. Tomorrow I'll go run the front desk and greet the people coming by for interviews. Marilyn will be managing Nominating -- I think she said there were seven (!!!) interviews. We hope to get done in time to go to Rich and Merlin's barbecue reception after their wedding (which we're unable to attend because of work). On the negative side, I'm still dealing with issues from upgrading to IOS 9.0.1 -- and having constant crashing. Plus it just 'disappears' and has to be restarted! Not sure why. This was supposed to fix the issues with IOS 9, but obviously it didn't!!! I'm heading to bed now. Good night! - Feeling:good

The cool thing today? Marilyn was able to meet sister Sue and me for lunch at the Burrito House! That was really nice. The not nice part of it was waitress Lonnie telling us they were now serving store bought Chiles Rellenos and Enchiladas! She actually recommended we not order those... Sister Sue had a blood draw this morning. I tried to phone her to see if she'd watched Pope Francis give his WONDERFUL speech in front of Congress, but she missed it. Marilyn and I watched and loved it. Anyway, Sue picked me up early (we'd planned for her to be here at 9:30) and we headed to Costco, which isn't supposed to open until 10:00 -- but they opened early! We bought everything we needed. I had quite a few things, including some HEAVY stuff. Walking around out there and pushing a heavy cart? Yeah, I was tired after that. But I did get a lot of steps in! I have 5,600 for today. After that we brought my stuff home so I could put it away. Then we went to lunch. And after lunch Sue took me to Freddies to shop (more steps!). I was tired enough after that to take a short nap before I started in on the garbage and recycling (including cleaning the cat boxes). And I had to put away all the groceries and stuff from Costco that I hadn't done earlier. June called with computer problems, so I went over there. I was a mess! I'd been sweating up a storm while working at the house. And I was still so tired. (I guess I needed a longer nap. Hahaha.) I got some info from June so I could talk to Donn. I called him when I got home. While I was there, Marilyn phoned. She worked late tonight because of Nominating (which was today and she has again this Saturday) -- such a busy time for her! I thought she might be done and getting ready to drive home, but she was ALREADY HOME! So I headed home. Before I got there, I ran into our neighbors Janet and Doug, who were just back from their trip to Hawaii (wedding anniversary and Janet's birthday trip). So we chatted about their trip and Marilyn's and my recent trip to New York. Marilyn was watching a horror film when I came in, so I joined her. It was called "The Ruins," a 2008 movie. It got mixed reviews, but was considered a financial success, making back the cost in the first weekend it was released. It was interesting, anyway. I guess they also made a sequel... We ate take home food from lunch for dinner. We still have our Berry Sundaes from Costco to eat, too. (smile) I need to finish up the recycling and composting (and take out garbage). It's not 'real' garbage week, so it's okay if all the garbage doesn't go out today. A woman we know is dealing with domestic issues that are very upsetting. I'm praying for her. And I'm still praying for our friend Gene. Sue's friend Donnie passed recently from heart-related issues. Too young, but recent years had been very hard on him. He made one of my rings custom to my request, and repaired another one better than new. He was an artist, and really good with computers, too. But there's no money in that and he had a lot of financial issues... Sue's close friend Bob (sort of like family -- and a former boss of mine) is in a nursing home and very lonely. His sister lost her husband and is all alone in another state. He's hoping she'll join him at the nursing home so they can keep each other company. I'm probably forgetting stuff, but that's it for today. - Feeling:good

So we did get to the office today, Marilyn and I. Actually, we put in a full day of work, getting home around 10:30 p.m. (we got there around 1:30).
We did take time to go over and see The Big Float event that was happening on the river (not far from our office). And to go to McDonald's and get some sandwiches and coffee for our lunch.
Marilyn was working on Nominating, which is extremely complicated and detailed and takes several hours to do. She's AMAZING the way she manages these kinds of things (like the festival by-laws).
I did some IT projects, like changing the phones. (After each festival when we lose our seasonal people, it's time to removed them from the phones.)
I also took a few minutes to write an email to our friend Shari, and another one to our friend Larry (sister Sue's friend). Shari writes often, and Larry had written an email that was very touching...
It POURED DOWN RAIN today while we were at the office!!! And I do mean poured. Goodness.
We stopped at Safeway on the way home to pick up a couple of things.
I made a pizza when I got home, but I got sick again (very nauseated) and I didn't eat any. I'm dealing a lot recently with nausea (as I have in the past). I even took a pill to try and help it. Not sure what's causing this problem, but currently it seems to be associated with whatever bug I've been fighting (for THREE WEEKS now!). I still have gastrointestinal discomfort whenever I eat. My voice is better, but NOT 100% yet. I'm still coughing. And tonight I have a killer headache. (sigh)
Anyway, it's good to be home. I just ate a piece of pizza and so far, so good. We'll see if I can keep it down or not...
Tomorrow we'll do our manicures and pedicures.
I didn't mention our snafu from yesterday. We got up and got ready (dressed nice and made up and everything) because we had a funeral to attend. I think I first mentioned it more than a week ago. Rita, who used to live across the street, passed. She and I were quite close at one point. Anyway, Janet and Doug had invited us to attend, and Marilyn was very anxious for us to do that.
We drove all the way across town through the rain to the church. But when we got there, there were no cars anywhere! It was creepy. It turns out the funeral was actually on Friday! Somehow we'd become convinced it was a Saturday funeral. (sigh) If we'd known that earlier, we would have told Janet and Doug we'd be unable to attend. It's not that we don't sometimes leave work to go to funerals -- which depends on our workload and so on. But we knew that this past Friday was Movie Day and we needed to attend, as it was a Team building event.
I'll have to get over to see them and explain. Anyway, it was a long drive for nothing because of our error...
We really didn't mind going to work today. We love our jobs and like the office, which is a 'home away from home' to both of us. So that was just fine. And we're certainly used to long hours and weekend work.
I wonder if I'm forgetting anything? Anyway, that was our Sunday.
I'll be glad when I can stop fighting throwing up all the time. Or having it come over me suddenly like it's been doing. Just disgusting! - Feeling:okay

As expected, Marilyn and I were late at the office tonight. Then I needed to come home and start (and cook) dinner -- and finish up the garbage and recycling from yesterday that I didn't quite manage to get done...
I went to Starbucks with Shelley and Tanya this morning -- the first time ever with Tanya! It was nice.
Marilyn had a really, really busy day -- one of her busiest days of the year. She did great, as always. (I don't know how they'd ever manage without her.) Nominating went really well, and I was glad to help out as the 'greeter' for the candidates.
The rest of the day? Donn was in and we did IT, including some work on Marilyn's new computer (still not ready at this point). Plus we talked about the inventory spreadsheet. I finally updated the password Excel and gave that to Donn...
We need to take some supplied in for doing the monitor stuff, so we didn't start on processing them today. That's fine, because we had plenty of other stuff to get done!
I also had website work to do...
And I need to get cranking on the eNewsletter for next week (!!!) and the Court pages at the website, that should ideally be ready for next Tuesday. Hard when you consider I just finally got stuff late today! Oh well...
I'm tired and fighting a cold (and having bad allergies). Amusingly, I've downloaded and am re-reading Stephen King's "The Stand," which I've read many times and love. (It deals with a super flu -- with severe cold-like symptoms...)
I talked briefly to our friend Shari today. She wasn't doing well at all. She's having major issues with incontinence and really isn't able to get out at all, poor thing. I need to try and send her an email one of these days -- and call her more often.
Well, I'm off to sleep. I'm so TIRED. And we've got another busy day tomorrow! - Feeling:tired

So, I spent quite a bit of time hunting for photos of our (recently deceased) friend Mitch. I think I spent at least an hour and a half looking through digital photos (not as easy as you might think!) -- plus a couple hours (more?) beginning to search through our tons and tons of hard copy photos. In total for digital I found 76 photos. It sounds good until you realize we've know Mitch since childhood. But I'm not going to complain! We've probably got more photos of him than anyone else has -- and I suspect the best photos of him in recent years.
Here's one that I especially liked of him at the beach, walking along the surf and watching the sunset...

I wonder what he was thinking as he stared out at the ocean? He really loved to go to the beach.
Yesterday during a conversation with Taylor (Mitch's brother), he offered to let Marilyn and me have Mitch's ashes -- all of them, not just a portion. We'd like to keep a container in our home (the way we have our mom and dad) -- then spread some of his ashes down at our beach house. As I say, Mitch loved the beach and went there with us often over the years, so this seems fitting...
Marilyn has a super-busy day today, that will run late (surprise) due to Nominating. She'll hopefully be home some time between 7:30 and 8:00, but I'm cool if it goes later. She has lots to do, after all -- and we don't want to worry about work (well, much) during vacation!
Aside from that, I cleaned out a couple of shelves in the linen closet. And colored the roots of my hair. (It doesn't look like it took that well, but hopefully it's better -- I need to look half-way decent tomorrow.) And I did a load of dishes. Now I need to go finish up (finally) the earlier-started garbage and recycling (including the cat boxes).
I started this around 4:00 p.m. (believe it or not!) -- and now it's past 6:00 p.m. (heading toward 6:30). I've changed the beds and taken out most of the recycling and garbage (ugh). And I cleaned my toilet (fun job). Cat boxes need cleaning and then I'll be close to done.
I'll finish up my 'work' day with fixing dinner -- unless something else comes up. I did very little festival work today (that is a surprise!), and nothing at all for the other two non-profit groups.
Well, I may do some more tidying up stuff. And laundry. But I've no big plans beyond that. Actually, I feel like I got a lot done today, all things considered.
(I've been kind of fighting a small bug of some sort. Probably brought on by my immune system being compromised by infection and then the oral surgeries -- and constant antibiotics, which aren't the best for me, I know. But I'm hanging in there, in spite of feeling a bit punk...)
Wish me luck for tomorrow. I'm sure this interview will go as well as the last one did, and that's all I expect. I'm far from perfect in front of a camera, but I'm not too bad... I wonder if I'll be followed around while I work, again. Not my favorite thing, but I'll manage somehow...
Well, that's it for now! - Feeling:busy
