DHC SCHOLARSHIPS
College is becoming more and more unaffordable. We all know this as tuition rates climb every year, far outpacing wage increases. Even for those who happen to have a less obstructed path to pursuing a higher education, it can still be financially challenging to earn a college degree. For others, it’s even more so. In 2019, DHC started a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Scholarship Program in hopes of alleviating some of that difficulty for those who need it most in our communities.

BEACH BOCCE
The Bocce tournament creates a unique opportunity to give back to the community and invest in our internal DHC community. We are thankful that our company can donate and sponsor events like these. With each year as our company grows, DHC prioritizes ways to encourage our team to give back and not only grow individually, but to also strengthen and grow the communities in which they live. We feel that everyone has a role to play in bettering the world around them, and we want to make sure to lead by example.
DHC + COMMUNITY
Each of our offices partnered with a local foodbank this year to put on a food drive during Hunger Action Month. Food insecurity impacts 1 in 8 households nationwide, so our team chose to do our part and donated food and resources to directly assist with hunger relief programs locally.
HUNGER ACTION MONTH
For several years now, DHC owners have led by example when it comes to giving back to the community by promoting a “donation match” program. The owners of DHC offer to match a donation to the non-profit organization of each employee’s choice on Giving Tuesday. It’s a great way to spark interest and involvement in giving locally and globally to the places that need it most.
DONATION MATCH PROGRAM
Our Santa Rosa office has had the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering at the Redwood Empire Food Bank which serves as the main distributor of food and grocery supplies for smaller foodbanks around Sonoma County. They bring truckloads of pre-packed and bagged food so that each foodbank can help provide for their local families. We get to help and be a part of that process by packing up hundreds of pounds of food that will be in the hands of families the very next day!
REDWOOD EMPIRE FOODBANK
While developing custom designs for contractors throughout the United States and Canada, the engineers at DHC are lucky enough to visit active construction sites on a regular basis. Nonetheless, the Southern California team gained a new level of appreciation for manual labor, when they checked their calculators at the door and put in a hard day’s work for Habitat for Humanity.
DHC’s Santa Rosa office spent the day at a local orchard picking 1,053 pounds of excess apples and donated them to a nearby food bank. Approximately 4,000 servings. Volunteers were also in the giving spirit and decided to collectively donate $1,053 to the organization Farm to Pantry, which helps get surplus produce to those in need.
