BIRDING SAFARIS

Uganda is one of Africa’s premier birding destinations with over 1084 bird species, boasting about 51.2% of Africa’s bird species and more bird species than the entire continental United States despite being
smaller than the United Kingdom. GAME DRIVES

Game drives in Uganda provide access to some of Africa’s most remarkable yet less-visited savannah landscapes. Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for the Kyambura Gorge for the Chimpanzee
and the Ishasha sector, where the famous tree-climbing lions can be seen. Murchison Falls National Park supports large populations of elephants and buffalo along the Albert Nile as well as the world’s most

Uganda’s rich cultural heritage is one of the country’s most underrated safari experiences. The Batwa cultural trail in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers insight into the traditions and history of the Batwa people, the forest’s original inhabitants. The IK in the Molungole Mountains, a tribe of the Karamojong blew open to the world in the year 1972. Near Kibale National Park, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a community-managed conservation area where visitors can combine wildlife viewing with cultural experiences. BOAT CRUISE

The Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for hosting one of Africa’s densest populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles. A two-hour boat cruise offers close-up views of these animals, often from just a few meters away. In Murchison Falls National Park, a boat trip along the Nile to the bottom of the spectacular falls is a highlight of any visit and is commonly included in many Uganda safari itineraries. The stretch of the Nile above the falls also provides an excellent opportunity to spot the rare
Shoebill and the Pel’s Fish Owl. In Lake Mburo, Birds and Hippos tale the whispers of the air as most animals come to the lake for drink.

Jinja, located at the source of the Nile, is renowned for offering some of Africa’s most exciting and easily accessible Grade 4 and Grade 5 white-water rafting experiences.
