Accessibility Statement
Cernitz Law | Originally created: November 6, 2025 | Last Updated: April 2026
Cernitz Law is committed to ensuring that our website, cernitzlaw.com, is accessible to all individuals, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to legal information and the ability to connect with our team — regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use.
Our Commitment
We are actively working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. We believe it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use of our website for all individuals, including those with disabilities.
Conformance Status
WCAG defines three levels of conformance:
- Level A – The minimum level of conformance.
- Level AA – Addresses the most common and significant barriers for people with disabilities. This is the standard referenced by the ADA and the level we are targeting.
- Level AAA – The highest and most comprehensive level of conformance.
Cernitz Law is currently working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. We are making continuous efforts to improve accessibility across all pages and content on cernitzlaw.com, though some content may not yet fully meet this standard as we identify and implement the most suitable technological solutions.
Steps We Have Taken
- Added skip navigation links to allow users to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to the main page content.
- Ensured the site declares a proper page language attribute to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
- Begun a review of image alternative text across the site, with ongoing improvements as content is updated.
- Identified color contrast deficiencies across the site and are actively working to bring text and background combinations into compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).
- Conducted an initial automated accessibility scan to identify barriers including form labeling, heading structure, navigation, and ARIA implementation, and are prioritizing remediation of identified issues.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is an ongoing commitment. We routinely review our website for accessibility issues as new content is published, pages are updated, and our site evolves. We use automated scanning tools in combination with manual review to identify and remediate any barriers that may arise.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas of our site may not yet fully meet all guidelines. We are actively working to identify and address these limitations. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know so we can prioritize a fix.
Third-Party Content
Our site may include content or tools provided by third parties (such as embedded maps, scheduling tools, or social media feeds). While we work to select accessible third-party solutions, we cannot always guarantee full accessibility of third-party content. We encourage affected users to contact us so we can provide an alternative means of access.
