When I started this journal, my plan was to just use it for posting my fics, but you people have slowly but surely pulled me in and I've begun posting more and more about other stuff! So any non-fic posts are now friends-only, although my fics and my fic recs will stay public. I'm pretty sure I got 'em all, but if anyone comes across a fic that is f-locked, please send me a message and I'll unlock it.

Just to make sure none of you VM diehards miss it: One of my favorite Veronica Mars fic writers, Madame Librarian, has just finished one of her WIPs that she started back during season 2! It was so fun to re-read the old chapters and then keep reading through the end.

I thought I might have escaped the pull of fic--I was still enjoying reading some, but it wasn't the obsession it once was. Today I discovered Peter/Olivia fic. Sigh... Would it be terrible if I skipped the gym and the grocery store and just let my kids watch TV all day while I read Peter/Olivia? Yeah, that would probably be bad.

Most of fic recs I've gotten so far are from het_reccers. Point me to the Fringe comms, people!

Also, they remind me of my favorite quote, from G.K. Chesterton, which pretty much sums up everything I love about the fantasy genre:

"Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed."

ETA: Not that I want to kill the little blue dragons, just... you all know what I mean. :)
