We can help you!
CBAL's free SWIS program is open to all newcomer families who have children from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
SWIS workers can:
- Connect families and students to the community
- Direct families and students to community resources
- Help students and families understand the Canadian school system
- Provide workshops to staff, students & families
- Support schools with resources and information
SWIS workers do not:
- Provide formal language training to students
- Conduct 1 - 1 tutoring with students
- Work with homestay families
- Work in classrooms
- Meet school staff to discuss students without their parent / guardian
