I've got this thing about the story-telling tradition, you see. And how our histories are made up of stories and if we don't tell them, we'll lose them. And once they're on their second or third generation re-telling we've already mislaid parts, shed them from our memories, so we have to fill in the gaps or learn new ways of telling the same story. Anyway. I'm trying to remember, for my sake and for my niece and nephew and whoever comes next. This is what happens:

Written for picfor1000. Apparently original fic (or highly fictionalised reality) is my thing for that now. Thanks to my Nny for once again providing the confidence I needed to get this posted. *hugs her*

My picture prompt is here and you should go and look at it if you want to feel warm and happy on the inside.

PG, 1000 words

WARNING: Mention of miscarriage (but not an unhappy ending). Please use a pre-reader if you have concerns.

"I'm keeping this one," she said, fierce and low as a tiger's growl. "I'm keeping him."

Hey, guys! Let's celebrate! Because today is the birthday of [personal profile] soupytwist, one of the most wonderful people to grace this planet. I love her for many, many reasons--she is unutterably kind and thoughtful, she's sharper than Pullman's subtle knife, she is a big ball of caring and enthusiasm and squee and she has a great rack. WHAT? I'm not above the shallow.

But here's the thing. You may (or may not) have noticed that in random, nebulous ways my health has pretty much sucked this last year. It's been a tough 12 months for me, but it would have been way, WAY worse without the summer weekend of clappy hands and the following epic e-mail trains of squee and flail and deeeeeep thought between [personal profile] soupytwist and me over the Big Gay Love of Tim and Tony and the awesome of NCIS in general. Honey, you made all the difference. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm so lucky to know you, KD-K, I'm glad you're part of my life. Happy, happy birthday to you, girlie girl. *squishes so tight*

So, for you, here's the boys. This is set around 708/709 which you probably STILL haven't seen (holiday!fail) but you are the most spoiler-happy person I know, so, you know, there's that. There are some very specific things that are in there for you--you'll know 'em when you see 'em. ♥

Many thanks to the lovely [personal profile] celli for beta. *squishes you also*

Tim/Tony, PG-13, 5000 words, some dialogue lifted directly from the show. Thanks, writers!

There are feelings. Tony's having feelings and they're not nice ones. At least, he doesn't think they are, he's usually too busy interrogating others' motives to have any time to spare for his own. Plus, there's the whole thing where emotions are messy and if his mom ever taught him anything, it was to keep his room tidy.

So that sequel you wanted to the boys meeting as wee!folk? I wrote it. Oh, hai thar, time on my hands. [personal profile] soupytwist looked it over and declared it fit for duty. (See what I did there?) This title taken from the poem A Soldier, by Rupert Brooke.

Tim/Tony, 2600 words, established relationship, PG-13, sequel to At the Going Down of the Sun--you probably should read this first, I doubt it'll make huge amounts of sense without it.

Returning to Arlington, Tony makes an unexpected, but not unwelcome, discovery.

I had this weird urge to write Tim and Tony meeting for the first time as little kids, and then I remembered it was Remembrance Sunday (I know you US guys do Veterans Day on the 11th) and somehow this was what came out. The title is from the poem, "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon.

I remember you, those who died, and those who survived. I remember you. And this may seem like a strange offering (and it is), but offering it is all the same.

Thank you to [personal profile] soupytwist who tells me I'm not crazy and wants to cuddle wee!Tim.

2800 words, gen, G, very pre-series so no spoilers

Tony's going to tell Uncle Jack just how pissed off he is at him for dying. At least, that's the plan. Only somehow Tony's plans never work out quite the way he expects.

To solve my writing woe (self-indulgent OHNOES! crap, don't worry), I wrote fic. Yay, me? It's a little angstier than usual which was interesting for me to write. See what you think.

Beta by my darlingest [personal profile] soupytwist, for whom no squishes are too many.

Tim/Tony, 3600 words, PG-13, set between 701 and 702. (This is not the post-ep fic I planned to write but it's the one that got written.)

Tony has a headache. Nothing showy like a migraine--no flashing lights or spectacular vomiting for him--just the regular unpleasant kind, a thousand tiny kung-fu black belts synchronized-punching the area behind his eyes over and over again. The kind where if you take your hands away from your head long enough your brain will split in two and sloppily slide out of your ears, squelching underfoot.

This may well be the post-ep fic that you are looking for, in that it's post-ep and also fic. Other than that, ymmv.

Post-703 (The Inside Man), 2700 words, PG, enthusiastic thumbs up from [personal profile] soupytwist but it's highly possible she was drunk at the time so do with that what you will.

Tim's got some 'splaining to do.

This is not the post-ep fic you are looking for, sorry! For [personal profile] shetiger who gave me the adorable prompt Tony brought Tim a cookie, but he eated it. And he feels reallly, really bad about it.

That's all you need to know. Except. 2000 words (getting better at this 'ficlet' thing), no spoilers, though in my head it takes place between S6 and S7. Read-through by my dearest [personal profile] soupytwist.

The title of this fic is from Secret Lovers by Atlantic Starr. I totally blame [personal profile] schtroumph_c because she gave me the prompt (which you can see here but it gives away the plot if that kind of thing bothers you) and inadvertently ear-wormed me with that dreadful, dreadful song. So as punishment I wrote her 5000 words of fic. Er, there's something wrong with that equation. (Am I ever not going to fail at writing comment fic that's like, you know, an actual comment? Doubtful.)

ANYWAY.

Secret boyfriends, that's what they aren't... Set in that vaguely nebulous time after 702, so I've got, what, less than three days before I'm potentially completely Jossed. AWESOME. The usual (and pretty) eyes of [personal profile] soupytwist passed over it and deemed it fit for consumption.

So [personal profile] oxoniensis is hosting The Fall Fandom Free-For-All and I figured just because I'm lousy at asking for things (Really. SO BAD. There is stuff I want, but will I ask for it? No. Hai! Have you met me? I'm English.) doesn't mean I can't give. So. [personal profile] ladyyueh wanted Tony/Tim. Tony/Tim I can do. Especially when there's a [personal profile] soupytwist to cast her eyes over it and provide thumbs in an upward position.

Her prompt went thusly:

NCIS, Tim/Tony, Tim's drunk and being hit on by a guy! Tony to the rescue! Only, McPissy is angry because Tony is cockblocking. Tony's surprised to find out McNotsoStraight is slightly bent, but whatever, he's still the same McGeek, right? Only, it seems that now that he's looking for it, an awful lot of guys are sending McGee some mighty appreciative looks and Tony doesn't like it. Not that he's jealous, or anything.

And so this happened. 5000 words, adult, Tim/Tony, Tony/OMC (don't panic, bat fans!), set somewhere around S5/6. Major spoiler for S4 but other than that, nada.

Wow, so apparently I haven't written anything since June, omg. And now here I am posting when LJ/Dreamwidth are so quiet you can almost see the tumbleweeds. My life is a series of bizarre choices.

Anyway. Enough worry-warting from me. Thank you to my darling [personal profile] lilac_one who bounced ideas around with me for this fic way back along. I wouldn't have ever started it if it wasn't for you. Thanks also to ever lovely [personal profile] soupytwist for readthrough and nailing that tricksy middle for me. *smishes* This entire fic can be blamed on the title. Yeah, I don't even know, it's something about NCIS that does that to me. I wouldn't ask me what White Knights, Big City is about if I were you. (Not that it's ever getting written.)

Tim/Tony, PG-13, 6300 words, set somewhere around mid-S6 so you can assume spoilers up to then, though nothing major.

About halfway down his stack of never-ending paperwork it occurs to Tony that though he may have promised not to say anything to anyone about his and McGee's Big Gay Love just yet, there is no clause in the verbal contract against him doing stuff. And, okay, maybe McGee would expect him to stay within the spirit of the law if not the letter, but then he's chosen to throw in his lot with Tony DiNozzo so really, he should know better. Specify, always specify; it's one of DiNozzo's Rules (and if it hadn't been ten seconds ago, who's to know?).

Originally posted at Porn Battle and probably the last one I'm writing this time around. Still, it's not that long to January, right?

Tim/Tony, NC17, 1300 words, prompt: close, eyes and squee by [personal profile] soupytwist

Tony isn't saying that the whole screwing/dating McGee thing hasn't been pretty out of left-field, but it turns out he likes having sex with men. With a man. With McGee.

So this is the fic I would have posted on Friday only it took me 48 hours to figure out a title. I mean, I have my usual levels of title suck but two days? That's special, even for me. Thanks to [personal profile] soupytwist for being my eyes and for providing final title approval. You are, and always have been, aces.

And so continues my attempt single-handedly to reverse the trend for established-relationship fics for this pairing. Yay, first-times! (Also, yay, est-rel, but that's for another day.)

Tim/Tony, 4000 words, R, spoilers for 5x12 Stakeout. Some lines also used from that ep so thank you, writers, for those. If only it had actually turned out this way...

"Fuck," he said again, and now probably wasn't the time to remind himself that he'd bought the Word A Day toilet paper for a reason.

So, um, because of the emlengthening of the other fic (is there a verb in the universe that isn't embettered by having 'em' put in front of it? I do not think so.) I wrote something else for Porn Battle instead.

And thus began my descent into the Special Hell. Still, if I post it now when no one's about...heh. Eyes cast over by [personal profile] soupytwist who encouraged me, as usual.

Tim/Tony, 1900 words, R, prompt: unlikely, no spoilers but a warning for underage sex. Well, underage by American standards. Tim's a freshman, I think we all know what that means. (Does it mean you should know better, cat?)

So. Um. We has a cat.

She arrived with all her bags and baggage about an hour ago, had a good explore, and is currently chilled out on the sofa in between TB and me. For such a small thing she has a MASSIVE purr.

She comes to us pre-named, but as her name is the same as my colleague's daughter we're currently calling her Izzy until we figure it out.

First indications that something was forever changed in our household?

Hee.

I had a [personal profile] soupytwist this weekend. It was AWESOME. Not as awesome as Tony (and his secret mancrush) but pretty close.

One of the awesome things about fangirls? You can sit them in front of the TV without being a bad host. Which worked well given my epic levels of tired which are showing no signs of fucking the fuck off. [personal profile] kageygirl and [personal profile] celli you'd better be proud of me. I totally pimped her not just into NCIS but into Tim/Tony and she says there's going to have to be fic! OH, yes!

Sample conversation:
Me: What shall we watch next?
Her: *looks at me*
Me: More NCIS?
Her: Squeak! *clappy hands*

We did get out on Sunday to have a walk along a very empty, very pretty beach which we defaced with messages in the sand along the lines of "Danny DeVito is in Mossad." Or, "Danny DeVito is not a crab." Or, "DiNozzo ♥ McGee 4 eva." Because we are five. And because Danny DeVito (big D little e big V little ito) is in Mossad (or is he Keyser Soze?). But keep it hush hush.

Okay, so here's the thing. I do not have time to catch up on 6 seasons of NCIS. I am sorry, Mark Harmon, but I can't do it. Not when Michael Westen will eat me with his smile if I get distracted.

That's not the thing, though. The thing is this: (btw I got to use the sentence, 'It's a thing' today and not have people ask me to clarify. \vikings/) I may or may not be having a bit of a thing for McGee/DiNozzo right now. (Thanks, MJ.) So what I need from you, oh flist (or more accurately [personal profile] kageygirl, [personal profile] celli and any other NCIS fans out there), are the most important episodes you think I should watch from a McGee/DiNozzo perspective. You know, just 'cos.

Heeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeee.
