I just watched an episode of Castle where Nathan Fillion's character says "I was aiming for his head." I like to think that's a reference to when Jayne says that line (or some similar) in Firefly. Yes, I'm a dork.

I just heard about Martin's death. I'm stunned...shocked...I don't even think words can describe how I feel. We weren't terribly close, but I considered him a friend and I really respected his opinion and passion and talent. He was the kind of person who befriended you instantly, at least that's how he was with me. I really don't like this getting older and facing death thing. He will be missed, without a doubt.

And I feel the need to share something that I've been afraid to share. But there seems to be so much darkness on LJ these days that I think I should just go for it...

I am pregnant!

Tomorrow will be 10 weeks, right around the time I lost the last baby. This pregnancy has been very different, with more symptoms that seem to be hanging on and a promising ultrasound a few weeks ago, so I'm just praying for good news when I go back in 2 weeks. Please keep us in your thoughts and pray we get to bring a new life on board in September.

I'm only posting this because I like the movie. Need to see it again...it's been years.

What were your thoughts on this movie? We bought it sight unseen thinking it would be good considering that the book was pretty good--certainly better than Goblet of Fire which is the only other HP movie I don't own.

Unfortunately I didn't really like the movie. They rewrote some things inexplicably, and left huge gaping holes such that it makes no sense unless you've read the book. They also left out all the things that I really liked about the book, especially the burgeoning sexuality of the characters and the Tonks/Lupin love story! Both were there in the movie--just barely. Not nearly to the level I would have liked. Some scenes were good, but overall it should have been much better IMO.

Also, we don't have a HUGE TV...it's not small, but it's not large. And almost all the scenes were filmed from middle or far distance...very few close-ups. I actually got a headache attempting to make out facial expressions. Overall, the movie just felt very much like a half-assed effort all the way around. I hope the 7th one is better...I haven't read that one yet.

I came home to 2 messages...each was from the opposing party. Big surprise. I'm so glad the calls will soon stop! I got up to 6 in one night last week.

It's so annoying...and I probably won't even like who wins. And then life will resume as normal either way.
