Rules
ELIGIBILITY
1. Each individual participating in Codebrew 2022 must have signed up via EventBrite.
2. Teams must comprise of 2-4 people. The organisers reserve the right to relax this restriction at their discretion. Please contact hackathon@cissa.org.au if you wish to have an exemption for your team size.
3. All current university students are welcome to compete!
PROJECTS
1. Teams have the duration of the competition to build their project. There are no restrictions on what form the project should take, programming languages, or devices.
2. Teams must not work on any pre-existing project for the competition.
3. Teams must not commence any form of development or design work before the start of the competition. This includes, but not limited to, any code, graphics, audio, and 3D design work.
4. Teams can use an idea they had before the event.
5. Teams may only build the project during the allocated time.
6. All your code must be published in a public publicly accessible repository, with a link to the repository provided in your submission. All parts of your code must remain up for the entirety of the judging process.
7. Any third-party material used must be legally licensed and is available to the public to download or buy. You may purchase materials, tools and equipment for the competition, but at your own expense. You must list of all third-party material and APIs, including anything that was purchased, in your submission.
Project and Submission Requirements
Catalyst 2022 will be using Devpost to showcase your projects and ensure smooth running of the judging process. All teams are required to make a valid submission on Devpost for judging. A valid submission is constituted by:
1. URL link to a publicly visible Github repository that contains all the code developed for your project.
2. URL link to a 2 minute demo video that showcases your project. Any platform that allows the video to be publicly viewed is accepted, e.g. Youtube / Google Drive / Vimeo etc.
3. Complete project submission on DevPost, including a submission title (we recommend using your project name + a simple tagline for this), photos/videos for your project gallery, and the project description. Please include any other URLs necessary for your project here as well.
Conduct and Respect
Catalyst is organised by CISSA, for students, at the University of Melbourne. We are committed to ensuring a safe, inclusive and respectful environment.
It is expected that all participants conduct themselves accordingly. For more information, see the Uni's page on Respect.
