Subject:Post-job life...
So, last thing people heard from me really was that I had an employment offer from Goldman Sachs. Well, as you probably gathered if you keep any sort of track of me ( admittedly that has been hard of late, but still, shame on you if you haven't ) you know that I did, in fact, accept the offer from the evil cooperate world.

So, the job is sort of absurd in many, many ways. First is the hours. On a normal work week, I work something like 8:15 AM 'til something like 8PM or later. It works out in the wash to 12 Hours / day. However, every so often people at my work have to do the early rotation, which is be on desk support at 6AM, this sort of sucks ( this week I'm doing that, incidentally ), but you get to leave early ( I tend to leave at 6PM, 12 hours again ). This sort of puts a crimp in my social life, however. Or my desire to do anything but sleep after work, really. ( Add the fact that I live on SI and have something like a 45-60 min commute, depending on the whimsy of the buses, and you get something like 13.5-14 hour days ) This sort of sucks. Next comes the pay, which is sort of nice, however if you do that math, accounting for overtime, I get payed LESS then 20$/hour ( I'll leave the math as an exercise to the readers ).

Outside of work I haven't really been doing much with myself, I've been pretty much sleeping / vegetating or seeing Chloe. Though last two weeks I did mange to pull myself out of my self imposed hole long enough to see two performances, one of the Big Apple Chorus, which was nice, and one Barbershop competition, which was really great ( 'tino and Granger and Greller and 'tino Sr. placed 6 / 19 if I remember correctly ) That was good.

Anyway, right now my goals in life are really simple at this point. The first one really is to get out of my parents house... I have the resources to, I just don't have the time to properly house hunt... Sort of sucks, that. Other then that, I've gotten almost all the toys that I've sort of wanted but didn't have the money. Things that I have gotten so far: WoW ( Don't ask ), Poi! Its *soo* fun. I got more contact balls too... they are *pretty*. Lets see... I'm fairly certain I did other things... Right! I went to Lunacon and got shirts and this sort of awesome key-holder. I wanted to get a dragon statue, but I couldn't find one I really liked...

Lets see.. other plans... I sort of want to start getting out of the house and seeing people again, but I don't really thing that is going to happen until I finally move out of here... I also intend to go to Otakon at the end of the summer... it will be my first time and should be really fun. ( I finally have the money to do things like this! ^_^ )

That pretty much sums up my life to this point... Just in case there is someone who still has this journal friended, and reads their friend page often enough to catch a lone post through all the prolific posters that they also have friended. ^_~

So, I just played a perfect game of Hearts. Does this make me awesome or pathetic?

( For those of you who don't know, a perfect game is scores: 0 - 104 - 104 - 104 in four rounds ).

On that note, my high scores on www.tringo.com are 285 285 288 288 308.

I have way too much time on my hands.

That is all.

Subject:Hey, a real post.
Well, reviewing what I have written so far this summer, I noticed that I have not written any real posts at all, and figured I might as well do that at some point, on the off chance that someone who cares reads this.

Okay, lets start on the least interesting front, i.e. my job hunt, which still has not returned any jobs. All of the jobs that I have looked at seem to require more experience then I currently possess, so that limited my options greatly. A couple of other places didn't seem to want me, though for indeterminate reasons. Google, sad to say, also doesn't want me, though I am fairly certain of why *that* is. Anyway, on that note, I have another interview on Tuesday. Have I mentioned I hate job hunting? Yeah, that about sums up that experience for me. I hope I'll have *something* by the end of the summer though.

Lets see, what have I been doing with my summer?

Not all that much, really. I've been attending Bryant Park's on Monday, though sad to say, we only got grass space twice ( silly people and their inability to come early enough to grab space ). Also on Friday ( mostly ) I've been showing up at Stuy's park and hanging around with people, though not in the past two weeks. During the days I've spent them mostly online, chatting and reading random stuff.

One thing of note though was visiting Boston last weekend, with Tay, 'tino, Chloe and Lex. We went there for the purpose of seeing Miranda's show, "Threepenny Opera," which I thought was very amusing, though, sad to say, I have not yet been able to aquire the soundtrack to. While up there we also managed to see Alice, who hasn't been around in forever, as well, which was nice. ^_^

Other then that, not really much to say, I'm never very good at these things, and nothing overly interesting going on in my life.  Heck, I'm not even sure why I'm posting this.

Strange quiz / meme thing.

(Click here to post your own answers for this meme.)

I miss somebody right now. I don't watch much TV these days. I own lots of books.  (Not as many as I want.)
I wear glasses or contact lenses. I love to play video games.  (Depending on my mood.)× I've tried marijuana.
× I've watched porn movies.× I have been the psycho-ex in a past relationship. I believe honesty is usually the best policy.  (Just remember kids, truth is a weapon.)
× I curse sometimes. I have changed a lot mentally over the last year.  (Flux is good.)× I carry my knife/razor everywhere with me.  (Fire is my tool of choice)
it goes on...Collapse )
