Discover the amazing diversity of wildlife in Florida’s coastal rivers! The brackish waters of the beautiful Halifax River in Daytona Beach are home to dolphins as well as manatees. The coastal rivers and lagoons in the area are habitat for herons, egrets, ibises, pelicans, spoonbills and many birds of prey including ospreys and bald eagles. Captain Doug has explored the local waters his entire life and loves to show visitors the amazing natural Florida!
Meet the Captain
Captain Doug Hicks is a 6th generation local with over 30 years experience fishing the waters around Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach.
Captain Doug’s charters are family friendly and first timers are welcome on all his fishing charters as well as experienced anglers.
The Boat
Captain Doug’s boat is a 30′ Mako powered by twin 225 HP Tomatsu outboard engines. The boat is ideally suited for inshore fishing as well as offshore trolling and reef fishing. The boat comfortably seats up to 6 guests and is equipped with the latest fish finding technology and safety gear.
