We've met our follower. His name is Connor Whelan. Isolf was right about where he came from. He was a guard in Senthihal City. He has been aware of what he is for a number of years now, but was too afraid to do anything about it. He's been tracking us since we left there. I applaud him for that. He's apparently very determined.
Shadow wasn't too happy to meet him. Isolf had to prevent a fight, though Isolf was fairly edgy too. We all were.
We're not sure if Connor will be joining our pack, though I think it's likely. Provided he doesn't piss Isolf off. He does that and Isolf will likely give Shadow the ok to tear him into little pieces and scatter them the way Shadow threatened.
Well, it's late and I have things to attend to.
Soft wind and fair skies to you,
Iga

Hello,
Well, we've stopped making any kind of progress toward Tralfaun City. We're just wandering in circles for now. The human canthine is still following us, though he's closer now. I wonder what he wants. Although according to Iga he's been in wolf form the whole time he's been watching us so I have some theories. Perhaps he was raised as a guard in one of the cities. If that's the case then he may have remembered what he was and been forced to leave or be killed by his comrades. Not to fond of the guards if you couldn't tell.
Shadow keeps catching noises and growling. I never realized how frightening he could be. Perhaps because he's never had cause to threaten me like that. Although he was pretty frightening when we first met Iga. Poor kid's even more defensive than most wolf canthines, and that's saying something.
Well, for better or worse we'll probably meet this guy by night fall. One of us will keep you posted.
Loud howls and good hunting,
Isolf

Hello,
We're still being followed. He's still keeping himself hidden, too, which is probably unwise. Unwise because Shadow is starting to get agitated. It seems like if he shows himself now Shadow stands a better chance of tearing him to shreds than even speaking with him.
I've seen the canthine who's following us. I don't think he's realized that we have an avian in our pack. He's big for a wolf and a bit odd in form, though it may just seem that way from watching him. He has typical timber wolf markings, but without Isolf's red. Just grey. I can tell he's a human canthine from his scent and his mannerisms. The odd thing is that he knows what he is and can take on his wolf form. Most human canthines can't. Then again, Shadow is more aware of his human form than any other wolf canthine I know. And as Shadow put it when we first met, "You've got wings and you think we're odd?" So I suppose I really have no room to talk. I'm not even supposed to exist, so who am I to judge what's normal and what's not?
But that's just an update on our follower. We've left our intended course until we can figure out what he wants with us. We'd be more at risk in a City with a hostile guard-type canthine trailing us.
Soft wind and fair skies to you,
Iga

Isolf thinks I'm sleeping, so I guess I'll do something that doesn't require letting him know I'm not. He's been worrying over me since two days before Painted Fields. Him and Iga both. They don't know why I got so sick. It's better that way. That's what got my brother killed. Storm Sky didn't want such weak pups. They were afraid, too, that we'd somehow contaminate the pack. They didn't know what this was and how it was passed. Fortunately for me, Black Paw did know it and he could help me.
But that's in the past. We're being followed. One of those disgusting human canthines. This one, though, may not be quite so pathetic. He's out here, so maybe he's remembered his true form. Most of them have been tamed by humans to use as guards against their own kind. I was raised by pure canthines, so I have respect for them. More so than most wolf canthines, I think. Most of them think of pures as being too human, but I know they aren't. Human canthines, though, are nothing more than trained dogs for the full humans. Disgusting blood traitors. They don't even know what they are.
Iga's wings look funny when she sleeps. I never noticed that before. Iga's wings look funny in general, but especially when she's sleeping. And I think Isolf has gone to sleep because his breathing is more shallow and his paws are twitching. The two of them are amusing to watch. It's nice to be here. To be part of a pack where I fit. Night Forest was kind to me, but they knew too clearly how different I was from them. I couldn't be one of them. But the three of us are all different and odd in our own way, so I don't feel so out of place. It's nice to feel like you belong.
But I don't think we've met yet. I'm Shadow. That's really all you need to know about me.
May the wind and the snow hide you,
Shadow

Hello,
Iga and Shadow are sleeping, so I thought I'd update you on what's happening with us. Shadow's been looking better the past few days. He's still a little shaky and if you know him you can see the weakness left in him. Iga's restless now that we've left Painted Fields. We're on our way to another city. It's interesting to watch the way our pack dynamics change depending on where we are. When it's just us or if we're among pure canthines, I'm alpha. If we're among wolf canthines Shadow takes on that role because it's safer for all of us if they think one of their own is our leader. Wolf canthines are jealous creatures and not fond of those they see as blood traitors. When we're in the cities, though, Iga's in charge. She spent so long playing at being human that she's got a better chance in the city than either of the rest of us.
But in other news, there's someone following us. Shadow was the first to pick up on it, but Iga and I weren't far behind. We haven't talked about it, but we all know the others know. He wants us to know he's there or he wouldn't have gotten so close. He wouldn't have let us catch his scent. But there's something odd about him. His scent different. He's not like me or Shadow, nor is he like Iga. He's not a full human or a full wolf either. His scent isn't quite like the City Guards - all of whom are actually human canthines, though they've lost that part of themselves. He's somewhere between pure and human, but it's odd. It's more toward human.
I'm assuming that he'll show himself. If he doesn't do it soon, though, he may have problems. Shadow's been antsy lately. The kid may have a short temper, but I've still got to give him credit. He's extremely protective of the pack. I think part of his cockiness comes from being more wolf than human in a pack where everyone else is pretty much half and half. Well, I'm not sure what Iga counts as, but I'm more or less half and half. But there are problems that come with this. Wolf canthines are extremely pack oriented. They will protect the pack at all costs. They have a habit, however, of killing those they see as a threat. Between Iga and myself we can probably keep him in line, but I would still fear for this newcomer's safety.
That's the news for now. We should reach Trafaun City in four days' time.
Loud howls and good hunting,
Isolf

Hi!
I don't believe we've been introduced yet. My name's Iga. Isolf and Shadow are out hunting, so I have a while. More accurately, Shadow's hunting and Isolf's making sure he doesn't get into trouble.
I don't think Isolf really told you much about the pack. We're kind of strange. You see, we have a pure canthine, a wolf canthine, and me. I'm an avian. There's a reason that makes us an odd pack. Wolf canthines tend not to like pure canthines. Pure canthines tend to spend more time in human form than wolf canthines. As far as I know, many wolf canthines forget their human forms altogether. But I'll let Shadow talk about that. And then there's me. Avian canthines are something of a legend. We aren't supposed to exist anymore. There were never many of us. My pack may have been the last. I really don't know.
We don't have a human canthine in the pack, but there is such a thing. Most other canthines don't like them, though. We don't have any full humans or full wolves, either, but that would be stranger than having a human canthine. Although, Isolf's birthpack had a full human member.
The way our pack formed is interesting as well. Usually packs are family units. Males will leave their pack at a certain age to find a mate, but that's about it. Sometimes they return to their birthpack, sometimes they stay with their mate's pack, sometimes they form their own pack. As you can probably tell, we don't work quite like full wolves in terms of pack structure.
We were all outliers of sorts. Outcasts and remnants. Isolf picked up Shadow before I joined the pack, but I'll let one of them tell you about that since I don't know all the details. I can, though, tell you how I came to be part of the pack.
I lost my pack to a group of hunters when I was a pup. Only seven. But if there's one thing canthines are good at, it's surviving. I went to Senthihal City. I lived as a human for 12 years before Isolf and Shadow came to my city. It was the first time I had smelled one like me within the city limits. I sought them out and they allowed me to join them.
We're still traveling. We've just left the Painted Fields pack. They're wolf canthines, but I have known their alpha female since we pups so they welcomed us all. Their healer, Black Paw, helped Shadow overcome a serious illness. So now the kid's back on his feet and out running Isolf and I both again.
But I think I just heard Isolf howl. They should be back soon.
Soft wind and fair skies to you,
Iga

Hi there,
Isolf here. On behalf of the pack I'd just like to say hello to everyone. If you read our profile, you're probably a bit confused by us. Hopefully you'll understand in time. I think we confuse most people. And don't mind the things Shadow says. He's a bit temperamental at times. So anyway, welcome to our den!
