You know your office is kept too cold when you look forward to printing a stack of documents, just because you'll get to warm your hands on them when they come out of the printer.

A successful evening by all accounts. Thank you for a wonderful party, Chris! I'm going night-night now. I'll see you all tomorrow in the late afternoon. Yawn.

An amazing chance to read selected works online: hand-written early Jane Austen book; the Sforza Hours and other sacred manuscripts; pieces of Mozart's works (with musical accompaniment); Leonardo da Vinci's notebook; etc. What an awesome place to lose yourself for an hour.

[Current Music |"Sicut Cervus" naturally ... ad te desiderat, an inifinitum!]

Did anyone tape Bleak House last night? :( I missed it ... Gillian Anderson in the first of eight hours of Dickensian fashions and drama and I missed it.

Also, I was listening to a piece on NPR this morning about the 500th anniversary of the Swiss Guards' service to the Pope, and they played a bit of the music from the commemmorative Mass. Guess what motet they used for the presentation of the gifts? "Sicut Cervus" - yes, the same piece I used at my wedding. :) Sweeeeet! Sure, I only had 4 Renaissance vocalists, and they had the customary 16, but I think (hope?) the effect came across with less polyphony. I can't wait to get the CD recording of the music from the videographer.

Was just looking at last year's sales summary of condos in our complex. A couple weeks ago, an appraiser tried to convince me our home was 1,000 sq. ft.; when I insisted it was really between 650 and 700, she looked at me askance like I was an idiot. Well, the summary states that they're all between 658 and 676. Take THAT, appraiser lady! Not that I wouldn't rather have the extra square footage, don't get me wrong; I think I would be a lot happier with 1,000 square feet to play with, rather than two rooms and a tiny bathroom. Sigh. I just meant that I think I would know the diff between what we have and what she thought we had after she walked around. I guess it's good that it seemed bigger than it is to her, but she was SO condescending.

Oh, and Evo's sweater. *snort* Do you think he's going to wear it for the inauguration?

Attention Range Rover owners:

I apologize for the following phrase being entered into the marketing letters you will be receiving over the next several months:

"the truest expression of uncommon luxury and supreme capability"

I didn't write it, but I was forced to insert it. I don't know who came up with it, so please don't ask for their vital statistics for hunting purposes. Just let your eyes quickly go over it and move on.

Gaaah I'm wearing a shrug today! Run away!

... It's amazing what I'll wear to the Inland Empire that I won't wear to work. Kinda pathetic, really.

Heads-up to those of you ladies who need decent work/business clothes for cheap or needing last-minute girl gifts (*cough*imnotbob*cough*)...

Casual Corner, Casual Corner Woman and Petite Sophisticate stores are ALL in the middle of shutting down for good right now. Go to www.casual.corner.com for locations - the closest in OC are Brea Mall, Main Place and Cerritos Mall. At the one I visited at Brea Mall, everything was already 50-75% off. First come, first served, especially with the holiday rush right now! I'm still thinking about a pair of mallard blue/green d'orsay pumps that I passed up that were marked down to just $23. The heel and sole padding was realllly generous. They looked a little like this:

Handwriting Analysis

The results of your analysis say:

You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a social person who likes to talk and meet others.
You are diplomatic, objective, and live in the present.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

Can you tell I'm bored?

Also, I'm in the middle of resizing some more wedding pics. Whee.

Oh, and I have like 59 people to buy for this year. My family's done, but Matt's is another story. When does the worrying end and the holiday season begin? I heard "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" for the first time since I was a kid in the car yesterday, and almost started to cry. It's like I just can't get into the season anymore, and that hurts.

One more thing - happy birthday to me! I think this is the first year in my life I'm not having some big dumb party. Just been too busy.
