Accessibility Statement for Camp Maine

This is an accessibility statement from Maine Campground Owners Association.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Camp Maine is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Camp Maine is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

We use the Google Lighthouse Accessibility Tool to monitor the Camp Maine website so that it is accessible for all users. We strive to change anything that doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines.

We also use the tool AllAccessible as an accessibility resource on the website.

Individual directory page headings: The heading sequence jumps from h1 to h3 on the individual directory pages because We use a directory plugin called Directorist that controls the html for this section of the website. We have contacted Directorist to alert them of this issue and ask for it to be updated in next plugin release. Note while navigating the individual directory pages that their is a heading jump from h1 to h3..
  2. Individual directory page social media links: The social media links do not have descriptive text on the individual directory pages because We use a directory plugin called Directorist that controls the html for this section of the website. We have contacted Directorist to alert them of this issue and ask for it to be updated in next plugin release. Note while navigating the individual directory pages that the links in the “Contact Information” section after “Social Media:” link to Facebook, Instagram and other social media pages for that listing.
