About the Friendship Fund

Examples of the Friendship Fund in Action

When the Bureau of Refugee Services rescinded funding for refugee and asylee services, Camp Fire Heart of Iowa used the Friendship Fund to cover the deficit to ensure refugee campers could attend summer camp with no financial burden placed on their families.

With help from the Friendship Fund, Camp Fire Inland Northwest was able to expand their community partnership with the Salish School of Spokane by offering financial assistance for their overnight camp. The school is working to preserve and revitalize Southern Interior Salish languages, the first languages of the Spokane region.

In order to ensure that all campers have the magical summer camp experience they deserve, Camp Fire Heart of Texas uses the Friendship Fund to rent a golf cart every summer to increase access for campers who are unable to physically get around camp.

Camp Fire is a national youth development organization that connects young people to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves.

Puyallup Chocolates is owned by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, a federally recognized Coast Salish tribe based in the Tacoma, WA region.

Milk Chocolate Covered Grahams

Crisp honey graham covered in smooth milk chocolate. Familiar, nostalgic, and somehow better than you remembered. This is the one everyone starts with and keeps coming back to. Our bestseller for a reason.

Ingredients: Honey Maid graham crackers and 32% milk chocolate.

Dark Chocolate Mint Stacks

Crisp cocoa biscuits layered with cool mint cream and dark chocolate. Perfect straight from the pack, but even better after a chill in the fridge. Finally, a grown-up mint cookie.

Dark Sea Salted Chocolate Almonds

Whole roasted California almonds, covered in dark chocolate infused with sea salt. A classic made exceptional with only the finest ingredients. Timeless for a reason.

Whole roasted almonds and 54% dark chocolate flavored with salt. The salt is in the chocolate, not on the almonds.

Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries

Plump, tart cherries covered in dark chocolate. The cherry’s brightness cuts through the chocolate’s richness. Together they’re better than either one alone. Try cherry’s best match.

Addressing Cultural Appropriation & Repairing Harm

For over a century, Camp Fire’s mission has been to provide a safe place where kids come together to learn, grow, and build connections. But like many legacy organizations, our past also includes a history of harm—specifically, the cultural appropriation of Native American traditions, symbols, and stories. This history has caused pain and perpetuated stereotypes that we are committed to addressing and repairing.

Since 2019, Camp Fire has worked to moving beyond harmful practices and building reciprocal relationships with Native and Indigenous communities. This partnership is one important step on that journey. Visit campfire.org/blog to learn more.
