Tired of juggling apps, websites, and bookmarks to plan your race training? CalcuRun is an all-in-one solution - completely free, with no ads and no accounts. Newly redesigned in version 3.0 with a chronograph-inspired look and a dot-matrix display, CalcuRun helps you predict race times, plan splits, and dial in your workout paces. Features * Input a recent race or time trial and get accurate predictions across common race distances. * Use the "Other" race distance for non-standard events. * View splits for each race, in kilometers or miles. * Get workout paces based on your predictions. * Use the Calculator to plan an individual race - input a time or pace and calculate the other. * Sync your saved races and predictions across your iPhone and iPad with iCloud. * Redesigned iPad layout with a sidebar that takes advantage of the bigger screen. * Choose between the new dot-matrix display font or the system monospaced face. * Learn more about how the calculations are performed. Most importantly, your data is private. Calculations run entirely on your device. CalcuRun does not require an account, internet access, or any device permissions. iCloud sync is fully encrypted, and your data is never sent to a CalcuRun server. If you choose to follow any in-app links, only the URL is passed to your default browser.

- Fixed a bug that could cause the app to crash when viewing the new graph view when no races had been saved.
---
New in 2.4
- Now view your progress in graph form! All of your races are converted to their 10K equivalent pace, then graphed. This should help you view general trends and see changes in your fitness. 2.4.1 07/30/2023 Now view your progress in graph form! All of your races are converted to their 10K equivalent pace, then graphed. This should help you view general trends and see changes in your fitness. 2.4 07/29/2023 Some of you may have experience duplicate labels on fields/menus on the Calculator and Race Update screens. These should be fixed! 2.3.1 08/11/2022 - Add custom names to your races!
- When adding a new race effort, you can optionally input a custom name. Otherwise, a default name will be generated.
- You can edit the names of old races in the History View. Just tap on a name, then select "Edit." 2.3 06/24/2022 - Fixed a bug in iOS 15 where the wheels for selecting race and pace time were overlapping, making it hard to select the correct one.
- They're now integrated into the forms as menus instead of taking you to a new screen. 2.2.5 01/21/2022 Another bug-fix update:
- The app respects your unit preference in a few more places now
- The naming scheme for custom races has been adjusted slightly to make things easier to read
- Added a 1-time tip request for users that have launched the app 25 times. This will only appear once, and starts counting launches from this update onward.
If you had a successful fall racing season, please consider leaving a review or tip! The app provides full functionality for all users -- nothing is locked behind IAPs -- but your support makes a huge difference. 2.2.4 11/10/2021 Bug-fix Update!
- Fixed an issue where your km/mi preference could cause a crash on launch
- Updated one bit of UI that I missed in the last update
Hopefully your fall/spring races are going well! If you found CalcuRun useful during your training, please consider leaving a rating or review on the App Store. 2.2.3 10/10/2021 Today's update is a small one.
- CalcuRun is ready for iOS 15! You will notice some small changes to the UI, as the app respect iOS default styling whenever possible.
- The pace selection in the Calculator now defaults to your preferred unit. This should save you a tap if you use miles.
- We have a new website! As a result, we've updated some links in the Settings tab. 2.2.2 09/22/2021 A quick, but substantial list of small fixes and bug quashes for everyone. My apologies for the quick double-update!
Race Predictions
--------
- A reset button has been added to the "Other" view in your race predictions, similar to the button in the Calculator view.
- The keyboard more readily hides in the "Other" view in your race predictions.
Bug Fixes
--------
- Fixed an issue where the toolbar might disappear if you don't have any saved races, leave the app, then return.
- In the Calculator, hitting the Calculate button without a valid distance input would crash the app.
- iPad users working in fullscreen were unable to leave a tip.
- Tips were not sorted by price, which was confusing. They could also duplicate if an iPad user brought in another app in splitscreen.
If you find CalcuRun to be valuable, please consider leaving a review or tip! I'm a full-time teacher and make apps in my spare time. Happy running! 2.2.1 08/30/2021 This small update takes some of the new features added in version 2.1, and brings them to the Calculator feature!
Calculator
----------
- The Calculator now supports arbitrary race distances, just like the "Other" view in your race predictions.
- When you change the race distance, your race time and pace calculations will be reset to zero. This should help you know when to hit the Calculate button again.
- When calculating a race time based on pace, the calculator now properly generates the pace for the other distance unit. This means that you can toggle between kilometers and miles without having to recalculate.
Bug Fixes
----------
- Fixed wacky workout suggestions when using a custom race distance
- Fixed an issue where touch targets were overlapping in the views to input race time and race pace
- Fixed an issue where deleting a race, then changing your unit preference would cause the app to crash
Other Changes
----------
- Removed some outdated information on the "Other" view in your race predictions.
- Fixed padding around a few UI elements 2.2 08/29/2021 This update is for my fellow runners who run non-standard race distances!
-----------------------------
- In the Update Predictions view, you can now select "Other" and type in any race distance that you like. Select meters, kilometers, or miles, and let CalcuRun do the math for you.
- The Race Predictions list now has a note at the bottom, providing more detail about which race was used in your current calculations. This is especially handy when you use a non-standard race distance.
- Note that the CalcuRun algorithm is only scientifically tested between 1600m and the Marathon – race distances outside that race may reduce the accuracy of your predictions.
-----------------------------
- Are you enjoying CalcuRun? Please help me out by leaving a review! I'm a one-man show and develop this in my spare time outside of my regular job.
- Do you have comments or suggestions? Send me an email using the link in the Settings menu. 2.1 08/04/2021 CalcuSplit 2.0 adds a lot of under-the-hood changes, enabling some great new features:
- In the History View, you can now tap on any race result to see its predictions.
- You can specify which previous race to use for predictions and workout times.
- On the first app launch after updating, your data will be migrated over to the new format. It should only take a moment.
Other changes include:
- The views for adding new races and for viewing history are now pop-up sheets instead of separate pages. This should make navigation of the app more clear for users.
- Most of the times have been changed to monospace text to help things align more cleanly.
- You can now leave a review from directly in the app (if you wish). CalcuRun will never prompt your for a review, but if you find the app helpful, I would appreciate your feedback! It lets other users know that the app does what it claims. 2.0 05/14/2021 - Added a link to our new app: CalcuSplit
- A few UI tweaks in the Settings tab 1.5.1 05/07/2021 This version brings a few UI changes:
- Forms and lists throughout the app have been given a new style for a more consistent look
- A link has been added to our privacy policy and website
- A few links have been changed in the Settings
---
If you have found the app useful, please consider leaving a review! It will help others find CalcuRun and reach their own personal bests! 1.5 05/04/2021 This version is all about improving your iPad experience!
-----
- Added a split view to larger devices (all iPads and the following iPhones when in landscape mode: Max and Plus models, iPhone 11, iPhone XR).
- Instructions now appear in the Workouts page in addition to the Predictions page.
- In-App Purchases are now sorted by price on the Tip Screen. This didn’t cause any functional issues, but it was bothering me!
- The app version is shown in Settings. You can also pull up the Changelog from Settings.
- Reconfigured the storage and calculation of Workout Paces to streamline code.
-----
If you have any suggestions, ideas, or complaints, please reach out using the Email button in Settings or on Twitter @CalcuRunApp 1.4.2 03/07/2021 - CalcuRun now supports the iPad! Data will not sync between devices if you own both an iPad and iPhone, as it's stored locally on your device.
- Distances shorter than 1600m and longer than the marathon have been removed. This is to better align with the source data for the prediction algorithm – it only looked within that range, so distances outside of it are more speculative. You can always use the "Other" feature to view these distances!
- Added the 5 Miler race to the default list.
- Removed duplicate splits for races with a round number of kilometers or miles. 1.3 03/02/2021 - Complete reworking on the UI for the Race Predictions page. This should make it easier to see the race being used for calculations (highlighted in red). It should also makes things more legible and consistent. Things were getting a little wonky with varying number widths.
- Added a welcome screen on the Race Predictions page. Users who open the app for the first time or otherwise do not have any races saved will get some helpful information on how to start.
- Made some changes to the History view to help the Race Predictions update more reliably when you delete the latest saved race (which had been used for calculations)
- When you hit "Calculate" on the Other Distance page, the keyboard should automatically dismiss
- Under the hood changes to help the app run a little faster
- Other small UI changes for consistency (for example, the + is now unfilled on the Race Prediction page to mirror the history icon on the left side) 1.2 02/28/2021 - Added an "Other" feature to Race Predictions. Now you can get an accurate prediction for races of any distance! Supports meters, kilometers, and miles
- Behind-the-scenes changes to how races are saved to prepare for future updates
- Added more information about the predictions under Settings -> Learn more about race predictions
- Added Twitter link
- UI changes in some screens to make things more consistent across the app
