Capital Area Community Services, Inc. works toward eliminating the causes and conditions of poverty in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, and Shiawassee Counties by providing programs in childhood education, nutrition, weatherization, housing, and financial counseling. Head Start

Financial Self-Sufficiency

Financial resources for families through free, low-barrier access to financial literacy education and support.
One-on-One Financial Counseling and Goal Setting, Credit Repair, Debt Reduction, Banking/Savings.

Weatherization

This program is designed to help lower utility costs by making homes more energy-efficient.
Recent studies show that the average savings from weatherizing a gas-heated home are 32 percent. On average a person can save $358 per year on energy bills.

Senior Assistance

Services are available for persons 60+ years of age who reside in Ingham, Eaton, or Clinton Counties.
Service Centers are designated contact points to provide assistance to people on Medicare and their caregivers so they can make informed health care coverage decisions.

Certain housing services are only available in Shiawassee and Clinton County.
All counties can help refer individuals to local resources that best fit your needs.
