This is my private journal and all of my writing can from now on be found at piersonfanfic (or at dreamwidth for the fiction comm). If you are here for the fiction, please head to one of these places! If you prefer dreamwidth, I'm right here. I'm crossposting from DW to LJ at all times.

Be well,
Cass

I'm alive!

Honestly, I am. I haven't felt very creative and involved with a fandom since SGA was axed and While I still read a lot I was never a good blogger. I'm way too boring for that (and my schedules tended to be a bit insane!).

Until recently that is. I fell ... How does dark like to call it? Oh yes, I fell arse over teakettle in love with a new pairing and I haven't felt this level of "need to write" in quite some time.

Kingsman: The Secret Service appears to be my new obsession and my OTP is Harry Hart/Gary "Eggsy" Unwin. We're talking SGA levels of obsession here as well. With actual plot kittens clawing at my leg and the kind of single minded reading I haven't had since Dean/Cas.

I don't even mind all the porn (actually I think that is half the fun in this fandom, definitely something that is unheard of).

Here's to hoping my brain doesn't get eaten by a plot idea ...

Pimping!

I'm running Round #7 at the "Get shit done - right the fuck now!" Community. Where we're trying to get as many stories (especially big bangs) done as possible ... or at least motivate authors to give that last shove they might need to finish them :).

Come join us! Even if you don't write but like to read those long, plotty fics big bangs like to produce!

A challenge to write all the words and get shit done in a week.

18592 / 40000 words. 46% done!

Not shabby, even if I say so myself. I want to hit 25k by tomorrow evening, that is if I can figure out where to go from where I am right now. The problem about writing this by the edge of my seat is that I'm not planning as much as I'm used to and get stuck whenever I finish a scene. Though, to be honest, most of the time it works itself out quickly enough. *pokes story* come on, where are we going from here?

Oh well.

Nothing to do but let it kick around in my head a bit longer.

I've done it again

*throws up hands* I've signed up for a Big Bang. Not the Atlantis Big Bang this time around, though, because SPN has been eating my brain these past few weeks and there's no way I'm going to write a 40k fic in SGA until the epic SPN fic that hijacked me is done, so I signed up for the Dean/Castiel Big Bang. 20k words minimum requirement, you say? Weeeell, sounds easy!

No, really, it sounds easy, because the idea I've had that I wanted to use for the Dean/Castiel Big Bang is already over the minimum requirement for the Mini Bang and steadily growing towards 20k right now. How do I DO these things to myself? If you know that one, let me know, because I haven't got a clue.

Take care,
Cass

I just watched Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and now I'm totally fangirling Poseidon (and the actor who plays him, Kevin McKidd). I'm half-way through reading the first book of the series (so I watched the film first, I wasn't about to get sucked into another series like HP bound to disappoint me terribly sooner or later), but now I feel like I've missed out on something.

Ah, the shiny-ness of a new fandom (though it looked very small and I have to confess I have no real pairing! Woe! *gasp*). Though *fans self* Sean Bean as Zeus! I seriously love that man's voice. I'm normally not a fan of beards, but I can forgive them just this once (stubble totally works for me ... hmmm ... *shrugs*).

Spoilers aheadCollapse )

I only write slash stories, so keep that in mind, please! If that isn't your cup of tea then you should definitely read something else.

The following links will point you to the fanfiction stories I currently have either on my live-journal or in the writing community (piersonfanfic) that I have with my dearest sister Melinda.

Be well, and enjoy.

The SGA Big Bang went live!!!

I know I'm a bit late, but yesterday I wasn't up to string together a few words to a sentence. Anyway, now I am :D.

Yesterday, Friday the 13th of November 2009, which, in my opinion, was probably the best Friday the 13th EVER to have been, the SGA Big Bang site went live. Without further ado I present to you:

Title: Dawn Will Break
Author: [info - personal] darkmoore & [info - personal] ca_pierson
Words: 92.401
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard, mention of: McKay/Brown, McKay/Carter, McKay/Keller, Sheppard/Nancy, Sheppard/Teer, Sheppard/OFC
Warnings: genderswap, m-preg, pregnancy, multiple character death (major and minor), torture, angst, AU, kidfic, crossover with SG-1
Summary: When Atlantis – upon returning to the Pegasus Galaxy from Earth – breaks apart in hyperspace, only John is saved from the debris. The group of Ancients that retrieved him offer him a bargain: Either he helps them make corrections in some universes, where things have gone wrong, or they put him back where he was found. Reluctantly accepting, John embarks on a lonely journey through a multitude of universes until he finally reaches the place he could again call home.
Notes: Thanks to [info - personal] earlwyn, [info - personal] forestgreen, [info - personal] rheanna, and [info - personal] whizzy; also, thanks to Leah and springwoof ([info - personal] taste_is_sweet & [info - personal] springwoof; they have a joint journal at [info] leahwoof). Extra special bonus thanks to our beta team, [info - personal] theshadowpanther, [info - personal] musicianatheart, and mcflyboys. And last, but certainly not least, thanks to our artist, [info - personal] davincis_girl who took it upon herself to read through the last part of the story and gave us her opinion and her help and basically betaed it for us. You all rock!

Sometimes getting to the place you can call home again is harder than you might think, but, however long the night, dawn will break. Eventually.Collapse )

Go straight to the story!

I'm still kind of stunned. Mel and I signed up for sgabigbang as co-authors. We're nearly done with TR anyway and there's this other idea we've been kicking around and meant to write it once we're done with TR#7. So ... perfect! We're under no delusions that this is going to be short, either - makes it doubly perfect really.

Guess there's some outlining in our close future ... I'm not sure if I should be excited or terrified, but considering TR is going to be around 80k and Trees has pretty much just doubled (it's going to be around 100k (!!!!) once we're done and oh my god that really is terrifying) I have no doubt 40k are doable for us. Genesis is 20k right now and I'm writing that on my own. Okay, still stunned. I'll revisit this when I've had time to process.
