O.J. Simpson's Florida home is heading into foreclosure and the imprisoned former NFL star's mansion has already garnered great interest from an usual source.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are appealing to JP Morgan bank, who are repossessing the 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home in Miami-Dade county, and asking them to donate it to be turned into a 'Meat Is Murder' Museum.
Just so you know, I am still alive. In case you were wondering. In case you remember me. RL is still very busy and very annoying and very much not allowing me to do fun stuff online. And it has been that for such a long time now that I am actually afraid to check my LJ email address. And I haven't checked my flist (do we still call it that?) in ages. Which is why I have missed a few messages from you guys, sorry about that. /c\
Anyway, even so I am a bit late with this,
♥♥♥ A Happy New Year to you all! ♥♥♥
How are you doing? Everything okay? Any new and exciting things I missed?
I didn't mean to post anything new, not before I actually read and commented to a few of your posts, but, well. Doesn't seem to happen. Just yet. So, I will try to ease into it, slowly. Posting* first, actually participating again later. Soon. Hopefully.
For now, awesome A Bit of Fry and Laurie fanvid, found on Youtube. (It's just 3 minutes. Go on, watch it, it's awesome and adorable. Plus, Oh boy, the early nineties. ♥)
* Because really, If I make one dependent on the other I will just drop out again. How can you get that unused to... well. Communicating? *throws up hands*
Sorry. I am so very, very sorry indeed. Not for being alive (MOST of the time, at least), naturally, but for being... well. Gone.
As an explanation (not a valid excuse, necessarily), there was (and is) lots and lots of work, like, doing-my-job kind of work, and also some other stuff, which I may or may not get into in later posts (if there will be any in the near future). (I sure like my parentheses right now, don't I?)
I barely even check my LJ email account, which is why it took some friends commenting on a year old picture on facebook of all places (the emails for that go to my 'regular email account') to make themselves heard. Or seen. You know what I mean. (BTW, it also took me some time to realise that there are kind people taking care of the_ckr_files; THANK YOU neu111 and surya74!)
But, busy or not, you know how it is, (1) you have time for something when you take the time for it, and (2) you can get... kind of... un-used to LJ. So, well, there's that. The thing is, I MISS you guys. But I haven't read an LJ post in... I think it's half a year by now? That's just not right, right? And even if I were into it just for fandom (which I am not, and which hasn't been the case for about, like, two months after I joined LJ), it's not like I don't have any fannish interests anymore. Because I totally do. And so, just to make it easier (hopefully) for everyone me, ( here is my 'Fandom Of The (last two) Month(s)'Collapse )
So, okay. Apart from all that. Tell me, flist, how are you doing, how have you been? Are you okay? Everything alright? Anyhing new and (or) exciting happened in your life? HOW ARE YOU?
Hi internets, I am still alive! Busy and stuff, but alive. Hope you are too. Alive, that is. Not necessarily busy.
Here, have a video of Gordon Pinsent reading from Justin Bieber's memoirs.
P.S. Oh, right, I have a question. This is just IMDB fucking up again, I assume? It's not that Canada just grew another Hugh Dillon all of a sudden, right?
A few days ago the ever helpful roadrunner1896 introduced me to this guy. We were talking about the hilariousness that is Twilight for some reason, and he's done some awesome readings of the book on his youtube channel. So, today I checked if maybe he has some other interesting stuff as well, and, yes.
This is no joke. No, really. It's isn't. Actual commercial behind the cut.
Hi LJ! I am alive and well! Just busy. And stuff. So, you know, the usual by now. (Also, I am going on yet another business trip tomorrow.) And I miss you guys, dammit. Why can't you all live in my house? /whining
Also, here, have a trailer (It seems to be for real. At least I hope so. I need to see this):
Whenever I use this search engine I want to write a post about it. But I always forget.
Well, not today.
It's kind of hard to explain what exactly it is, because there hasn't been anything like this until now. (Or, okay, until a year ago, when the website was launched.)
It's... well, it's the place to go when you want to know, let's say, how the weather in your home town is (and just in case you want to know, also the weather for the last 50 years, the forecast, the cloud cover, the fog probability, and the azimuth and altitude of the sun right now).
Or you want to know what an ethanol molecule looks like (and just in case you are interested in its surface tension, refractive index, specific entropy or auto ignition point, and ten thousand other things, W|A will give you that as well).
(For those of you who have no idea what this is about; Terrence Howard (Rhodey) was replaced in the second film by Don Cheadle. Rumour has it he was the best paid actor in the first movie, and didn't want to take a pay cut for the second. Also, he apparently was kind of an ass to work with.)
(Hi, LJ, btw. Yes, I am alive. *waves*) I guess you guys have all seen it by now, and if you haven't you don't care, and anyway, it's not like FlashForward deserves spoiler cuts. You know, I was kind of almost pleased when I started watching FF again after the break? Somehow they managed to go from annoyingly bad to hilariously bad (How many electron volts?). I appreciate stuff like that. But, yeah, they couldn't keep it up. Not that I was surprised. But there was James Callis (♥) all of a sudden, which, as you may know, I appreciate as well. And then someone posted that Callum will be in that next episode, and then I read the synopsis (someone kills all the people who didn't have a flashforward but survived for some reason, blah, blah, blah), and, yeah. Still not surprised, and let's face it, no one really expects anything different by now. But this? Really? I mean, really really? I am beginning to think that no one who was involved in ST:TNG at some point should be allowed to put Callum in a series anymore. First Ron Moore with BSG, and now Brannon Braga. With 24 and FlashForward. You love this actor? What do you do to actors you hate? Actually, I am not sure I even want to know. So, in conclusion, hmpf.
So. Next thing. People who've met me in Seattle are probably aware of that, I might have, uhm. Developed a thing for the awesomeness that is Robert Downey Jr. Just a little bit. Maybe. ( So, okay. A LOT.Collapse )
And in case someone out there feels all that is not reason enough:
Hi flist! I am, indeed, alive. I am just not here right now. But I will be, back here, in about two weeks or so. I hope. Thanks for the emails and messages, I am sorry I haven't answered them all. /c\ And I'm sorry that I am missing out on all the things going on here, I miss you guys. I just... I have a lot of stuff going on, work stuff and other stuff, and I can't be here right now. But I miss you, and, like I said. In two weeks or so? I will be back.
First, re 24, and soon to be dead Callum character. (What? Come on, you know he won't survive this.) I found this at spoilerTV.com:
What's happened to poor Renee between seasons of 24? "Renee is going to do what she wants and you better hope you're not in her path," Annie Wersching tells us of her conflicted character. If you thought the thumb-chopping scene was severe, just wait.
Yeah. You know what I think, right? I think I know who will get some more severe chopping. Just so you're warned. (Ooh, which reminds me, if you always wanted to see Peter Outerbridge getting dissolved in acid, check out Saw VI. *is still traumatized* Not necessarily by the acid thing. More by the whole movie. And you thought Callum is bad at picking projects.)
And second! I meant to post this very delightful Katee Sackhoff interview (nothing about Callum in there, but very awesome nonetheless):
So, okay, now I've spend three hours watching the first four episodes of 24. Or, okay, let's say two hours. I skipped over some stuff, okay? Even though, I have to say, 1) I don't like Jack Bauer, 2) I think I actually might like Chloe, or maybe I hate her, I am really not sure, 3) I still think Freddy Prince Junior has a stupid face, even though 4) he kind of grows on you. 5) Katee is pretty awesome, not that I am surprised, 6) black boss guy reminds me of someone, but I don't know who, dammit, 7) I have to give it to them, it all looks shiny and kind of awesome AND 8) they are kind of good and making you want to know what comes next. Also, I think Callum could make it a new tradition to first show up on pictures in a new show. Maybe they could even be, like, NOT mugshots or surveillance photos.
