Juan Williams faux thought bubble

Juan Williams: “I’m not a plagiarist, but the guy who writes my columns might be”  is the header for Michelle Malkin. I don’t know why I get some pleasure in this story. He bothers me as he opines on Fox. Perhaps I do. Especially since he wants to ram Immigration down our throats. He took the stuff, or rather his “researcher” took them from the Center for American Progress. Here we go:

New York Magazine

A column by Fox News talking head Juan Williams published last month by the Hill was quietly updated last week to fix some pesky instances of plagiarism. The article, it turned out, featured entire paragraphs from a Center for American Progress report on immigration, with a few words changed here and there, as detailed by Salon. “I was writing a column about the immigration debate and had my researcher look around to see what data existed to pump up this argument and he sent back what I thought were his words and summaries of the data,” Williams told Alex Seitz-Wald without apologizing.

Salon.com:

Williams told Salon that the researcher has submitted a letter of resignation, but that he has not decided whether to accept it. “I just feel betrayed,” Williams said.

Michelle Malkin:

Quite the dilemma. On the one hand, Juan doesn’t want to further risk using work that had been plagiarized, but on the other hand, who else is going to write his column on such short notice?

Kucinich lays bare our failed policy at Benghazi House hearing

After watching the full hearing, “The Security Failures of Benghazi”, and coming to the conclusion that who we have in the State Department, the desk jockeys that make decisions about our national security are alarming at best, and terrifying at worst, I looked for any rational voice  present in the almost four hours of hearings. Lt Col Andrew Wood, Eric Nordstrom, Charlene R Lamb and Patrick Kennedy testified on the security failures of Benghazi before the US House oversight committee. Charlene Lamb refused requests for additional security.

As Michelle Malkin said on Hannity last night, everyone who intends to vote, must watch the hearing before voting. I suggest you fast forward past the Democrats who participated if you want to save some time. I promise you it is riveting. The link to the full hearing  is here

A shorter Q and A portion of the hearing which is a bit over one hour is  here

The voice who made any sense at times and at all turned out to be in my mind. He lays bare our absurd foreign policy, and in this case our Middle East policy. I have often found Dennis to be somewhat of a kook, but not in his overview of Libya.

Genius Palin-basher thinks “Black Friday” is RAAAAACIST

Due to an abundance of  tryptophan due to Mr. Turkey, I happened to have the tube on. What should my wondering ear should hear was this interesting exchange from”The View”. Nice post, Michelle:

Last week, the genius View co-host seriously suggested that “Black Friday” is RAAAACIST.

It was left to economics professor Whoopi Goldberg to explain what “in the black” means.

I love the actual exchange:

GOLDBERG: Oh, hello and welcome to ‘The View.’ Today is Black Friday, all day long,” And I’m going to stay black all day because of it.
BEHAR: Isn’t it a little racist to call it Black Friday?
GOLDBERG: [laughing] Well, I would have called it African American Friday, but that’s taking something away from it.
BEHAR: [still serious] But there’s a negative connotation to it? Or does it mean something else?
GOLDBERG:[patiently] No, it’s like when you make all the money – you’re “in the black.”
BEHAR: So it’s positive?
GOLDBERG: Yeah. It’s in the black, so it’s a huge great thing.
BEHAR: A lot of times, like blackmail is negative, black sheep.
GOLDBERG: Black people.
BEHAR: No, not black people.
GOLDBERG: But it used to be, it used to be.

The new wave of female firebrands striking fear into liberal America

“Politics on the right used to be a parlour game played by old, white men,” said Bowler. Palin changed that and Bachmann has followed. They have replaced the dulcet tones of grey-haired Washington senators with Midwestern vowels and Alaskan twangs. They have risen swiftly through careers forged a long way from Washington, wearing their outsider label as a badge of pride. They have given conservatism the look of a middle-American suburban soccer mom with first-hand experience of raising a family in tough times.

Michele Bachmann

Michele Bachmann

She is a striking brunette with a decidedly outspoken attitude. She lambasts President Barack Obama as a socialist and has become the darling of America’s right-wing activists who flock to her appearances. She is hated by liberals and loved by conservatives.

Sarah Palin? Not quite. Meet Michele Bachmann, a Republican congresswoman from Minnesota who is being hailed as a new and increasingly powerful voice in American politics.

She is part of an increasingly visible “female brand” of conservatism that is rising in America in the wake of the election of Obama. They include notable syndicated commentators such as Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter, whose dislike for liberals has grown ever more shrill in recent months.
