Matthew Furlong is a fine young man.  He was raised in a good home.  His father is a detective chief inspector whose example motivated his son to one day follow in his footsteps.  And so, Matthew applied himself.  He stayed in school, earned a college degree (in particle physics), and applied for admission to the Cheshire Constabulary.  The application process was an exciting time for Matthew.  He was about to reach his “dream job” … he was going to be a copper, like his Dad.

He passed all the tests.  The interview went pretty well.  Matthew was on a roll.  But then it came time to accept or reject applicants.  Matthew was rejected.  He wasn’t going to get a job in the Cheshire police department.

It wasn’t that Matthew answered wrongly during the interview.  It wasn’t because he lacked a solid degree.  No, Matthew didn’t get the job because of four main factors:  He is white, not black.  He’s straight, not queer.  He’s normal, not a transgender, and he’s not disabled.  He’s also not accepted into the Constabulary.

Matthew did the right thing, though.  He filed a lawsuit against the police department for wrongful discrimination.  And the judge came to the right conclusion in pointing out that the police agency did wrongfully discriminate against Matthew, but if anyone thinks that the police hierarchy is repentant, think again.

After the ruling, the leader of the British police chief’s organization called for radical laws to allow police to positively discriminate in favor of ethnic minority candidates.  The chair of the National Police Chiefs Council, Sara Thornton, said that unless changes are made, the rank and file would remain overwhelmingly white for decades to come.

Apparently, the British police don’t want less crime or justice through the apprehension of criminals … they want more black, gay, sexually confused, or physically disabled street cops.  Meanwhile, violent crime in the UK is rising in leaps and bounds.

Instances of gang-fights with lethal weapons abound.  British citizens are prohibited from defending themselves, and so must rely on the police to do that for them.  When the British call for help, they are likely to wait a long time before anyone shows up, and they’ll have to deal with someone who may not be able or willing to help them.

This is what leftist society calls progress.  We are living in a world of opposite meanings.  Let’s be clear: this isn’t progress.  Citizens know this, but they have no power to change course.  With their inane ideas, people like Sara Thornton and Police Chief Constable Janette McCormick pose a clear and present danger to an orderly, respectful British society, and yet, in spite of this, they are allowed to continue doing irreversible damage to that society.

Matthew Furlong has gotten on with his life.  He has a good job, and I assume he’s making good money.  The problem isn’t resolved, however.  Police agencies controlled by social warriors continue to discriminate against white applicants.  They call this “positive discrimination.”  In the Furlong case, the judge’s ruling doesn’t matter.

The police agency may have to pay Mr. Furlong some compensation, and they will pay if the court so orders (no problem, it’s taxpayer money anyway), but they will not cease and desist their campaign to deny opportunities to straight white men.

If these are the benefits of enlightened British society, let us hope that the virus never makes its way to the United States.

Nobel Prize Winner James Watson Stripped of Awards over I.Q. and Race Remark

 

 

For years there have been so-called stereo-types about students innate abilities. Asian students score so much better at college testing, that even Harvard may have attempted reverse discrimination. Are these students brighter? Or is it cultural. Then we read that Jews may be genetically I.Q superior? The inference that certain groups of people have a better chance at being successful at life. As science continues its advancement, it is clear this discussion is a no-no in the P.C. culture in which we live.

Yet in all of this, up to now, this discussion took a pass at outrage until it came to 90-year-old James Watson making his statements. Sad, considering his accomplishment was one of the greatest of the last century.

Distinguished scientist and Nobel Prize winner James Watson was stripped of several honorary titles after suggesting our genetic makeup cause differences in IQ tests.

 

CNN reported:

A Nobel Prize-winning American scientist who co-discovered DNA has been stripped of his honorary titles at the laboratory he once led after repeating racist comments in a documentary.

James Watson, who discovered the double-helix structure of DNA alongside Francis Crick in the 1950s based on the work of British chemist Rosalind Franklin, said in a PBS film that genes cause a difference in intelligence between white and black people in IQ tests.

The 90-year-old’s comments were labeled “reprehensible” by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) on New York’s Long Island, where Watson had been the director from 1968 to 1993.

The laboratory said it “unequivocally rejects the unsubstantiated and reckless personal opinions Dr. James D. Watson expressed,” noting the statements were “reprehensible [and] unsupported by science.”

Although the Holocaust was propelled by charges that Jews were genetically inferior to Aryans, a new study in the Journal of Biosocial Science published online in June supports the opposite notion: Ashkenazi Jews may be genetically predisposed to higher intelligence.

In the past, powerful figures, including Adolf Hitler, manipulated pseudoscientific ideas to fuel prejudice. But legitimate biological techniques now allow researchers to identify the functions of specific genes. 

Most scientists insist that cultural factors play critical roles in the development of a person’s intelligence. But Cochran is convinced that across generations, a person’s environment is insignificant compared with strong biological factors. “As genetics marches on, there are a lot of things people think are cultural, and they’re turning out not to be,” he says.

The sordid history of mixing genetics, ethnicity and intellect guarantees a spotlight on this work. But only time and rigorous research will tell if genes are the most important factor in conferring smarts.

Then how about Asians?

In conclusion, Dr. Watson touched the third rail. Even though studies out there indicate there may possibly be a connection between genes and I.Q we are to be silent. Not that one group is superior making others inferior, but in understanding what makes us tick

 

 

 

FBI releases Trump’s real estate investigation records from 1970’s

One has to wonder why this has to make it to the light of day right now. It would be interesting who made the decision. What with all that is going on with Trump it is pretty much a ho-hum. Any other time I suppose it would be a big deal. If it had been me, I would have shown FBI director Comey the door. Here we go:

comey3The FBI on Wednesday released nearly 400 pages of records from an investigation it conducted on Donald Trump’s family real estate company in the early 1970s.

The documents consist of interview notes, handwritten statements and FBI reports compiled during the bureau’s investigation, which occurred between 1972 and 1974.

The FBI’s investigation centered on allegations that the Trump Management Company, which was owned by Trump’s father, Fred, discriminated against applicants for apartment rentals based on their race.

The documents released on Wednesday include statements from tenants and Trump company employees who claimed Fred Trump discriminated against black renters.

“Fred Trump told me not to rent to blacks,” one rental supervisor who worked for Fred Trump in 1973 told a FBI special agent.

Obama unleashes ‘Preferences’ juggernaut

More Obama phones on the way. Many more. Now this “Equal Outcomes” thing should make the lawyers happy. Watch them step up and make out of court settlements because it is just too expensive to fight. Maybe one or two might make it to the Supreme Court… in a few years. A new housing bubble now on its way. As an aside, just to remind folks, that Obamacare is filled with this preference thing. Jews, Indians and Asians need not apply.

The word “underrepresented” is inserted into the bill’s language to make it clear the preferences are aimed at giving a leg up to black and Hispanic students. According to the soft bigotry of the left, “underrepresented” is always meant to be read as “black” and “Latino.”

Page 879: “Give preferences to entities that have a demonstrated record of … training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds.”

“Racial preferences in the Senate Health Care Bill, in addition to being unconstitutional, will not improve health care outcomes for minority patients.” Examining the terms of the race provisions, they said they find them “constitutionally suspect and ill-defined.”

If your organization has a policy or practice that doesn’t benefit minorities equally, watch out: The Obama administration could sue you for racial discrimination under a dubious legal theory that many argue is unconstitutional.

President Obama intends to close “persistent gaps” between whites and minorities in everything from credit scores and homeownership to test scores and graduation

His remedy — short of new affirmative-action legislation — is to sue financial companies, schools and employers based on “disparate impact” complaints — a stealthy way to achieve racial preferences, opposed 2 to 1 by Americans.

Under this broad interpretation of civil-rights law, virtually any organization can be held liable for race bias if it maintains a policy that negatively impacts one racial group more than another — even if it has no racist motive and applies the policy evenly across all groups.

Equal Outcomes:

This means that even race-neutral rules for mortgage underwriting and consumer credit scoring potentially can be deemed racist if prosecutors can produce statistics showing they tend to result in adverse outcomes for blacks or Latinos.

Also, the administration sent a chill through the financial industry earlier this year when it announced its new credit watchdog agency will join Justice, as well as HUD, in using the disparate-impact doctrine to enforce civil-rights laws.

Already, Attorney General Eric Holder has used the club of disparate-impact lawsuits to beat almost $500 million in loan set-asides and other claims out of the nation’s largest banks.

In addition to the financial settlements — which include millions in funding for affordable-housing activists — Bank of America, Wells Fargo and SunTrust have all agreed to adopt more minority-friendly lending policies.

USDA Offers $1.3-Billion Settlement to Female, Latino Farmers Who Claim Discrimination

The Obama administration on Tuesday offered $1.3 billion to settle complaints from female and Latino farmers who say they faced discrimination from the Agriculture Department.
 
The proposal comes as Congress is poised to approve a $1.25 billion settlement with African-American farmers in a similar discrimination case. The agency also is negotiating with Native American farmers over another lawsuit.
 
Details of the latest offer were provided to The Associated Press by a Justice Department official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the settlement has not been finalized. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/66673
