Comrade Boehner offers 10 lies in support of Omnibus budget bill

UPDATE for individual votes. This is procedural vote only.

Vote Tally Count Omnibus budget bill

Ten things Comrade Boehner wants you to know about his porkulus coming down. But of course the dang website had been down so I guess we don’t get the three days. Here is a taste of what is in the bill, 401K’s next.

PENSIONS:

For the first time, the benefits of current retirees could be severely cut, part of an effort to save some of the nation’s most distressed pension plans. The change would alter 40 years of federal law and could affect millions of workers, many of them part of a shrinking corps of middle-income employees in businesses such as trucking, construction and supermarkets. Wander over to his page if you want to read his 10 lies. Just Like Obamacare: Boehner’s Omnibus Website Fails, Bill Text Disappears Behind ‘Server Error’

A few short hours after the House GOP posted Speaker John Boehner’s 1,603-page $1.1 trillion omnibus bill text on its website, the website failed.

The bill text—both the PDF and the XML versions—went down around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, for unspecified reasons. Speaker Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel hasn’t responded to inquiries as to why the bill is no longer available for the public to see.

Instead of the bill being available online, the website reads: “Server Error.”

“401 – Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials,” the website now reads. “You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.”

The Rules Committee website which serves as a gateway to get to the bill text is still up.

From Boehner Gov: (10 point plan)

The House Appropriations Committee has released the FY 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill.  The bill contains a number of important measures to fulfill the people’s priorities, including protecting jobs, stopping wasteful spending, reining in government overreach, and funding our national security. -“

Comments from so called “dummies” over at his website:

Full ObamaCare funding, FULL amnesty funding, and $250 million MORE than Obama wants for the EPA –oh, and a disgraceful cut to housing money for rank-and-file military.

HE GOP “LEADERSHIP” HAS GONE INSANE:

The $1.1 TRILLION dollar “cromnibus” spending bill being RAMMED through the House with Dem votes is a DISASTER…. Not only does it FULLY FUND every aspect of ObamaCare, and FULLY FUND every aspect of Obama’s illegal executive amnesty, it gives the Environmental Protection Agency $250 million MORE than Obama requests…. In short — the bill – just four weeks after a massive, historical Republican election – looks as if DEMOCRATS have huge congressional majorities… It absolutely BOGGLES THE MIND, the level to which Rs are in lockstep with Democrats, who doubtless can’t believe how stupid they are.

Boehner cleaned Obama’s clock at the Battle of the Fiscal Cliff

As I wind down my month-long Florida vacation – the long vacation due in large part to Mr. Obama and his destruction of Healthcare which led to my early retirement- and head back to the chilly climes of the North, I searched for a good news piece. Many of us have been pretty hard on Boehner, so when I found this read, I thought O.K. let’s pass this one along. Any bright light these days so here we go:

In retrospect, at the Battle at Fiscal Cliff, Boehner took President Obama to the cleaners. He did it suavely, without histrionics. While Obama churlishly, and in a politically amateurish manner, publicly strutted about having forced the Republicans to raise tax rates on “the wealthiest Americans” Boehner, quietly, was pocketing his winnings.

Dazzled by Obama’s Ozymandias-scale sneer most liberals failed to notice that Boehner quietly made 99% of the Bush tax cuts permanent. As Boehner himself dryly observed, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board member Steve Moore, “”Who would have ever guessed that we could make 99% of the Bush tax cuts permanent? When we had a Republican House and Senate and a Republican in the White House, we couldn’t get that. And so, not bad.’”

“Not bad” is a resounding understatement. Dealt a weak hand, Boehner managed to 99% outfox, on tax policy, a president who had the massive apparatus of the executive branch, the Senate majority, and a left-leaning national elite media whooping it up for a whopping tax increase. Even more impressively, Boehner pulled it off with steady nerves while under heavy pressure from the anti-spending hawks in his own caucus. Full story at  Forbes

Obama lies, insisted that detention of Americans be in Defense bill

So what we thought was true is proven by the video below. Obama lies about his objections to the detainment of suspected terrorists including us.

“But… It was his administration that insisted that the language be included in the bill”.

From the video: Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich.) told Congress recently that under the original wording of the National Defense Authorization Act, American citizens were excluded from the provision that allowed for detention. Once Obama’s officials saw the text though, says Levin, “the administration asked us to remove the language which says that US citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section.”

This should be making headlines, but of course, it turns out to be a Conservative blogger who reports the story, who is no doubt on the DHS list of watched sites:

Always on Watch has the list:
I’ve just learned that the Department of Homeland Security has Jihad Watch under surveillance, along with a broad spectrum of sites all over the ideological and political map.  Go Here

Gateway Pundit: President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act on Saturday, but not without expressing his objections to the funding bill’s provisions on the treatment of suspected terrorists, including U.S. citizens.

Obama expressed “serious reservations” about the bill but argued in a signing statement released Saturday that it does not fundamentally change executive power.

The administration does not intend to interpret one provision as granting the military authority to detain Americans indefinitely
, Obama said in the statement. It also opposes sections of the bill that block the transfer of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to U.S. soil for any purpose and that restrict the government’s ability to transfer detainees to other countries.

Specifically, the section that Obama asked to be reworded was Section 1031 of the NDAA FY2012, which says that “any person who has committed a belligerent act” could be held indefinitely.

Oink Oink, Another Pork-Stuffed Omnibus Spending Bill

Oink Oink, the pigs come to the trough once again! We will see you all 2010! Special Saturday vote– lucky us. And if this isn’t enough, a Judge has ruled that ACORN must remain at the trough also. Congress cannot deny them funds, Merry, Merry Christmas. From my house to yours!

It wouldn’t be the Holiday Season  without Congress rushing through another pork-filled omnibus spending bill. This year, not even a recession or $1.4 trillion budget deficit prompted even the slightest deviation from business-as-usual budgeting. Here are two key observations on this year’s spend-o-rama:

First, while most people have focused on health care and cap-and-trade, discretionary spending has leaped by 25 percent since the Democrats took the Congressional majority three years ago — plus $311 billion in additional “stimulus” discretionary spending. This comes to $561 billion more in discretionary spending over these three years than if they had limited growth to the baseline inflation rate. Worse, this new spending has pushed the 2011–2020 discretionary spending baseline $1.7 trillion higher than three years ago. We’ll be paying this bill for decades.

Even with a massive budget deficit, this Congress raised their own office allowances by 8.4 percent, and gave huge increases to LIHEAP (120 percent), the Corporation for National and Community Service (mostly Americorps, 30 percent), Transportation Security Administration (20 percent) and the NEA and NEH (8.1 percent each).

Second, remember President Obama’s pledge to “slash earmarks to no greater than 1994 levels” of 1,318? He followed up that promise by signing a pork-laden omnibus bill in February, and then promising once again to cut pork next time. House Democrats made similar pledges. Well, this bill contains 5,224 earmarks, bringing the year’s total to 8,939, and with a remaining defense bill that will likely push the total past 10,000 (this year’s whoppers includes $750,000 for the World Food Prize in Des Moines). In other words: promises made, promises brazenly broken. After blasting the GOP majority for exceeding 10,000 earmarks twice in twelve years, the Democratic majority will have exceeded 10,000 in each of its first three years. And President Obama — who recently said, “If my administration evaluates an earmark and determines that it has no legitimate public purpose, then we will seek to eliminate it” — hasn’t publicly criticized a single earmark.
