I'm really, really glad I'm on Celexa right now. Condolences to everyone who had to get through election night without it.
Hell, condolences to everyone, maybe especially the people who think they won. Sanity sure as hell didn't win.
I suppose it was inevitable that Life would turn into a reality tv show at some point. - Mood:blah

My LJ is thirteen years old today!
*gives it cake*
There...was going to be actual content. Hopefully later.
Hi, everyone who is still around.
|
On the upside, I now have an extra hour every week that I can spend any way I like.
I can just hear them now. "What? It's not a fridging. We used a tub so it's totally different."
Honestly, I can't believe I watched as long as I did. It's like one very long, very slow train wreck. - Mood:pissed off

Call the Midwife + Doctor Who = <3 I love you, Comic Relief silliness... The Doctor Who Google Doodle: 21:41. I died so many times. That Angel is evil. And that last board... Though I actually did better on that one once I gave up and stopped trying. The earlier levels are easy enough, though. And so cute. ( The Day of the SpoilersCollapse )And now I feel like Eeyore. I did like it a lot! It's just that my squee list would be long and inarticulate and I'm having trouble typing as it is.

You know what's making me mad? OnDemand. It was never especially reliable, but I'd swear it's gotten even worse lately. Among other issues, episode six of Haven was posted right away, but since episode five has yet to make an appearance, that's no help. (So I tried watching it on the syphilis web site, but they're weeks behind, which is just as well since their video player is so incompetent, it actually plays the ads at the same time as the video.)
White Collar is still MIA, too.
(Which is all pretty trivial, but I'm very tired and I've been having problems with other web sites lately. Amazon's new customer service policy is denial, so that's fun. I got short-changed when I tried to renew my library books because the shiny new web site can't do math properly, and there's no way I'm finishing the current book that quickly, nevermind the second book I checked out.)
Awesome thing to try to justify this pointless, whiny post: Thank you, Walking Dead, for not sucking. I watched the premier a day or two ago, and I can't remember the last time I liked the show so much. Maybe it's because last season they killed off all the characters they never quite got a handle on, so they got a fresh start this season?
One month and one day till The Day of the Doctor. :D

1. Disney heroines running away to see all of time and space. The Tinkerbell one is particularly awesome, if also disturbing. 2. Sleepy Hollow: Watched one episode so far. Am amused. Will keep watching. 3. Will miss Broadchurch terribly. 4. I am looking forward to SHIELD, but not ridiculously. I'm actually more eager for Nashville, because zomgcliffhangerargh! And it'll be nice to see Elementary again... 5. Completely blew off the new season of Hell on Wheels, which doesn't bode well for Revolution. Fridging = fail. 6. In other news, apple strudel. <3 ETA: Okay, now I'm ridiculously looking forward to SHIELD. I somehow forgot they'd gotten Bear McCreary. That. Is. AWESOME. *is that little kid from The Incredibles* Also, randomly: pumpkin spice milk. Bliss. *shares*

I think Luther series three would have made me cry a lot more had I not watched the (first) Call the Midwife christmas special two days before. That one had me bordering on sobbing, so I was all out by the time I finished watching Luther. (I need to go back and watch/rewatch series one of Midwife at some point. I missed most of the last episode and parts of others due to an aggressive inability to cope with anything not available from OnDemand anymore.)
I'm...sure I must have had something to talk about besides tv shows making me cry, but damned if I can remember.
(Actually...chocolate bourbon mousse cake. It tastes almost exactly as good as it sounds.)
(And now I want to open some cheese. Maybe the soft cheese with the dill? ...or popcorn sounds very nice, too.) - Mood:hungry

I knew I shouldn't click on the link. I knew it. Why did I click on the link?
I didn't realize that list of recent "shocking" genre character deaths might involve a Fringe spoiler.
*weeps bitterly*
I didn't mind the other spoilers I'd stumbled across too much. But this? Fuuuuck.
I need to erase my short-term memory, please. D:
Why did I click it?! | | |

1. Broadchurch soon! Wednesday!
2. The 12th Doctor will be announced on bbcamerica at 2pm ET on Sunday. I'm both excited and worried.
3. I was thinking of driving all the way to Ithaca to see Much Ado About Nothing, but I failed to notice the note on the web site that it was ending Thursday...until it was already Friday. Boo.
4. Still no release date for the next Dresden Files. Boo.
5. I finally got to the two Fringe season three episodes I saw when they first aired, so I think the rest of the series will be entirely new-to-me. Or did I see the next episode, too? If so, I don't seem to remember anything about it at all. We'll see.
6. I wish I had pudding. (Not tv related.)

1. Finished watching Grimm season one a couple weeks ago, so I'm all caught up. ...which means I have to wait until October like everyone else now. :(
2. I'm a few episodes into season two of Fringe now. I'm going to look on the bright side and be glad there are a few things in the series I didn't end up spoiler for.
3. Revolution. Bah. Killing off my favorite character (i.e. the only one I care about more than vaguely) on a show that's only mediocre to begin with = serious uncertainty as to whether I'll watch next season. (Especially given the circumstances. I think I get what the writers were thinking...and that's why I want to smack them.)
4. Nashville soundtrack! I bought volume two yesterday. I'll get volume one maybe next month. A few of my favorite songs aren't on either, but I'll try to resist buying them for a while in case there's a volume three or they save them for next season. (They have deluxe editions at target, but they cost so much more, I didn't think it was worth it.)
That's right, I bought a country music album, even if it's more like country light. Cue apocalypse.
5. In the Flesh was nice. So was Orphan Black. (New Luther in September!) /bbcamerica randomness
6. ...I clearly am failing at having cogent thoughts right now, so I'm going to go ahead and stop now. Besides, I'm mostly out of tv-flailing (largely because most of my summer shows were either canceled or bumped to fall), so I would have had to move on to random book things, like obsessing about the next Dresden Files not having a release date yet, or Words of Radiance being bumped to January. Random!
Night, everyone. :) | | |
