The need for an entertainment, conference, and meeting venue for Caldwell County and the surrounding area was first realized in the late 1980s but truly began to take shape in June 1989 when CCC&TI purchased a former Fairfield Chair Company showroom.
The existing facility contained 23,250 square feet and included 13.3 acres of land. That property would soon become known as the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center, a state-of-the-art venue named in honor of Broyhill Furniture founder, Ed Broyhill.
The civic center officially opened its doors in October 1993. Since that time, it has provided the region with quality entertainment, space to host meetings and events, a venue for special occasions, and much more.
Our commitment, then and now, is to enhance the quality of life for our area.
