BrowserProtect is intended to protect you from unauthorized attempts to take control of your browser by changing such settings as home page, search engines and address bar search. The program has a straightforward interface, which makes it appropriate for all types of users as it only requires setting a few initial options to start protecting your system, and from then on, it will start automatically with the system and remain running in the tray.
The application supports protecting three major browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. However, other popular browsers, as Opera and Safari are not supported. You can set the desired level of sensitivity to hijacks. Moreover, you can also configure the program to monitor specific types of intrusions. Besides automatic protection, you can also start on-demand scans, which will present you with a list of potential hijacks. Unfortunately, I could not find a way to unblock those items that had been automatically blocked.
In general, BrowserProtect is effective against intrusive applications that try to change your browsers’ settings. It is great that, besides the standard program, there is also a Mozilla Firefox add-on performing the same function.

My advice is to look for an alternative.
