Sending a Team to Canada North - Labrador

Team Broken Earth has partnered with the Nunatsiavut Government, Labrador-Grenfell Health and local communities to provide educational courses for first responders and local health care providers. Mission trips to date have included training for first responders and local health care providers in the areas of women and children’s health, chronic disease including diabetes, physiotherapy, remote trauma and overall mental health and wellbeing. Dr. David Lacey Memorial Scholarship

Team Broken Earth lost a valued team member and dear friend this past year, Dr. David Lacey. Dr. Lacey volunteered his medical expertise in Haiti and is described as a “man who loved life and giving back”. The Dr. David Lacey Memorial Scholarship has been established by his family to provide annual funding for a Memorial University Medical student to join a support mission in Haiti. Africa Burn Project

Every year, over 1 million burn injuries occur in Sub-Saharan Africa, often leading to long-term disabilities, especially in children. The Africa Burn Project is dedicated to changing this reality by providing reconstructive surgery for children with burn contractures and training healthcare professionals in burn care and reconstruction.
