Welcome to BrickHack 11, the eleventh iteration of RIT's premier collegiate hackathon!
February 22nd ignites a weekend devoted to hundreds of designers and coders dedicating 24 hours to creating, building, and innovating. Work individually or in teams of 2-4 to build an app, website, game, or other form of interactive media. Mentors and industry representatives will also join the fray to lend expertise and share wisdom. Expect food, swag, and timeless brick-laden memories!

Requirements

To have a project considered for prize tracks, hackers must submit their project by 9am on Sunday and prepare to present it in front of our judges. At least one person from your team must be at the judging expo in order for your submission to be considered. 

Judging will happen in person on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 1-4pm EST.

RIT MAGIC - Traver Creative Technologist

Consider yourself creative? Entrepreneurial? The Traver Creative Technologist prize track seeks innovative software and technology projects that solve problems faced in the creative industries. RIT MAGIC Spell Studios will directly award the winning RIT dev or team of RIT students $1,000 and access to RIT’s Traver Creative Technologist Program.

Benefits include:
• Up to 15K stipend funding during 2-semester residency with MAGIC to bring your project to market

Judging Criteria

  • 20% - Originality & Creativity & Novelty
    Is the project new and something that hasn't been attempted before? How does this approach a unique solution to a problem?
  • 20% - Polish / Design / Execution
    Did your team successfully execute your project concept? Is it usable? Does it work? Is it well-designed? Is the user experience smooth?
  • 20% - Demo / Presentation
    You'll have 2-3 minutes for a demo to tell the judges about your project, followed by a Q/A. We're interested in the problems you solved, API's you leveraged, technologies used, and lessons learned. We recommend a quick powerpoint.
  • 20% - Multidisciplinary project
    We encourage and applaud interdisciplinary projects fueled by eclectic teams with diverse backgrounds.
