Seminar venue

The lecture rooms (A3 and B4113) are equipped with computer, projector and internet connection. By default we have support for MS Power Point and PDF slide shows. (See maps here.)

Getting to Tampere

From Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP)
Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is located about 15 kilometres from the centre of Tampere. There is a bus connection from airport to the centre (oneway ticket costs 3,80 euros; can be bought from driver; timetable for airport busses). The taxi fare is from 25 to 30 euros.

From Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL)
Tampere is 180 kilometres northwest from Helsinki. From Helsinki-Vantaa airport there is a frequent bus connection to the center of Tampere (duration: approx. 2,5 hours). There are also daily flights between Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) and Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (TMP), the flight time being 30 minutes.

Accomodation

There is a wide variety of accommodation available in Tampere, ranging from modern first-class hotels to smaller traditional hotels and dormitories. We recommend the following options:

• Holiday Inn Tampere (business hotel, 5 min. walk to university)
• Sokos Hotel Villa (business hotel, 5 min. walk to university)
• Omena Hotel (no-frills budget hotel, city centre, 20 min. walk to university)
