The Academy Award for Best Casting, introduced in 2026 at the 98th Academy Awards, is presented annually for the best achievement in casting in a film from the previous year.
This award is the first new category introduced since the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature was introduced in 2002 at the 74th Academy Awards. It was included after a failed attempt to incorporate the award in 1999.
