3. As someone who has been studying German for a few years now, I haven't explored a lot of cinema in the language. Watch a German-speaking film.
4. Everyone has some fun and cute film crushes, and I am no different. Watch a movie featuring your current embarrassing celebrity crush. (Mine is Gene Kelly and I am not ashamed)
5. It can be hard to find movies on streaming services that fit every prompt. Watch a movie on your watchlist that's available on a streaming service of your choice.
6. I'm a Gemini, and you know what, we Geminis get a bad wrap in media. Watch a movie featuring an actor that is a Gemini.
7. My dad and I are both scuba divers. Watch a movie that has the ocean in its poster. (This list has some good examples)
8. This is the summer of concerts! I'm so happy that a lot of my favorite artists are touring again. Watch a concert film or music documentary featuring a musician you've always wanted to see perform live.
9. My dad and I are also huge Rat Pack fans. Watch any movie featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, or Sammy Davis Jr. (Bonus points if it has all three!)
10. Today is National Iced Tea Day! Watch a film starring Ice-T.
11. Jane Austen owns my ass. Watch any film set in the regency era.
12. Happy Pride! Watch a movie with LGBTQ+ themes featuring a person of color as the protagonist.
13. My roommate is moving to Glasgow in a few months and I can't wait to visit her next year! Watch a film that takes place in Scotland.
14. Happy Flag Day! Watch a movie that has a flag on the poster. (Stars and stripes, Union Jack, your pick!)
15. I like weird shit. Watch a movie that will make you go "what the hell did I just watch?" (Brace yourself and check out some examples from this list)
16. New wave music hits different in film. It releases a sense of nostalgia while also being cool and unapologetic. Watch a movie where new wave music is prominent on the soundtrack, or the characters are invested in a new wave/punk lifestyle. (A great list of examples here)
17. One of my closest friends on Letterboxd and in real life is Chloe Jewell. Her watchlist is insane. Help her weed out what is worth watching and shuffle her watchlist, then watch the first movie you get that you haven't seen! She would dearly appreciate it.
18. Sometimes I like to watch movies I know are gonna be bad because (hopefully) they'll still be a lot of fun. Watch a movie with an average Letterboxd rating between 2.0-2.9 stars.
19. In honor of Juneteenth, watch a film with a black director and/or writer.
20. I don't know about you, but I'm turning 22 today! Watch a movie released in a year ending in the number 2. (ex. 1932, '82, '02).
21. We're keeping the birthday train rolling. Hugh Grant is my favorite actor, so watch a movie featuring everyone's favorite bumbling Brit, my boy Hugh.
22. Let's ignore real life work responsibilities and watch a film with a job interview scene.
23. Marilyn Monroe's fashion has been in the news lately, and William Travilla is one of my favorite costume designers she's worked with. Watch a film featuring your favorite costume designer from the 50s.
24. I love ABBA and am forever in debt to Sweden for their contributions to pop music. Let's thank them by watching a Swedish submission for the Academy Award for Best International Film.
25. The highlight of every summer for me was the week I spent at zoo camp. Every summer, my local zoo would have a day camp where I got to go behind the scenes and learn about the animals and it was incredible. To go back to the simpler times, let's watch a movie that takes place at summer camp.
26. Pride is all month long baby, let's watch a film featuring actors in drag. (Queens or kings!)
27. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of my favorite movies. Watch a comedy from the 70s.
28. June is National Dairy Month. Watch a film with a cow in it.
