From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money
★★★

This sequel to "From Dusk Till Dawn" is actually a PREQUEL. It was co-written and directed by Scott Spiegel who was a longtime friend of Sam Raimi as well as directing the underrated horror flick from 1989 "Intruder". So it does have a bit of an irreverent style to it, which I liked.

The movie contains some crazy cinematography choices at times which either come across as "Ah, pretty cool." or "Meh, that's a bit too filmschool for me." I mean, I applaud the creativity, but a few of the shots are just drawing too much attention to themselves and go on for perhaps a bit too long.

In the flick, the T-1000 gets a Heist Team together for half the movie and then fight vampires for the other half. Similar to the first film, but they spend far less time in the Titty Twister vampire bar than they do in a roadside motel.

The cool thing is that Danny Trejo reprises his role as the vampire Razor Eddie.... and apparently appears in all three of the "From Dusk Till Dawn" films.

Also, there's a cameo appearance by Bruce "the chin" Campbell in this film as well. He is good friends with Raimi and that group, so that tracks that he was probably close with Spiegel too.

Overall, this film is far inferior to the original (but what wouldn't be, right?), and it's a bit "mid" for the first half or so... but once it gets going, this one really kicks it into high gear and becomes quite enjoyable and fun!

Didn't think I would end up liking it but - surprise! surprise! - I did.
