For a time I thought I could have saved him. But he was lost, doomed to something obscene. Or perhaps only to himself.
These were his final words, to the best of my recollection:
(1) "Mayday, mayday, mayday!"
(2) "This is the DHH André."
(3) "The ship's adrift en route to Copenhagen."
(4) "But this godforsaken storm."
(5) "I don't know where we are anymore."…

I wanted to try something a little different for my first time hosting: not just individual prompts, but a short story that ties everything together. Hopefully it's a reasonably entertaining one.
