"Now I'm not Seth Brundle anymore. I'm the offspring of...Brundle and housefly."
Say it with me now...THIS. IS. A. FUCKING. MASTERPIECE!
I loved everything about this...this is easily the best performance from Jeff Goldblum. The transformation from cocky scientist to monster is really captivating to watch. Of course, the effects used in this are spectacular as well. Truly amazing. I loved the look of Jeff as he descended further into his monstrous state. I especially loved his...final form, I guess I'd call it. Also, little things like his fingernails and teeth or the arm break etc...the effects are brilliant.
I loved the score. I loved the storyline, This isn't a horror movie per-say...I feel like it is more a love story with horror elements. But it's also a story about losing one's humanity. I felt the story was actually fantastic.
My only real gripe, and it isn't a big one, is I didn't really feel Geena Davis's performance. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. But Goldblum more than made up for it.
This is brilliant. I can't wait to watch it again.
