Top 100 Films — Cahiers du Cinéma

"100 films pour une cinémathèque idéale" is a curated list of the 100 best films or the most significant films in the history of cinema.

Created in 2008 by Claude-Jean Philippe, the list was published as a book by Cahiers du cinéma. The ranking was established based on the votes of 78 film historians and critics. Almost all of these individuals were French. The films that received the most votes were included in the list.

In relation to this list, Les Écrans de Paris (now Dulac Cinémas) held a retrospective of the films featured in this list at the Reflet Médicis from November 19, 2008, to July 6, 2009.
