Common actor from previous film: Bill Paxton

NEXT FILM: The Fog

Now I believe this is the last of the "you haven't seen THAT movie" movies when it comes to Arnie, unless you consider the Conan films as those. But this...this was great.

There's a mish-mash of genres here with action, comedy and even some drama thrown in and for the most part, it works. I am surprised at the comedy considering James Cameron seems like an unfunny, unhappy bastard but there was some genuine laughs in this.

I liked all of the acting in this with Arnie and Jamie Lee Curtis as the standouts. I will say that I think Tom Arnold more than held his own though, and Bill Paxton continues to show why he was a seriously underrated actor.

I think the main thing holding this back from being a TRUE action masterpiece is that it's just too long. I do appreciate the Arnie/Jamie Lee Curtis stuff in this as it adds an extra layer, moving this away from "just another action movie" territory. However, it is too drawn out and the film could've been 15 to 20 minutes shorter and kept most of that stuff in. That would've given it a nice, trim 2 hour runtime.

Overall, this has good comedy, good drama and fantastic action sequences and while it isn't a top tier Arnie film, it's definitely in that second tier and well worthy of a watch.
