Using RefWorks

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a cloud-based citation management tool that organizes and stores citations in your Bowie State RefWorks Institutional account.

How Do I Create a RefWorks Account?

Create your RefWorks account using RefWorks.

  1. Scroll down to "Use Login From My Institution."

  2. Type in "Bowie State University."

  3. Login using your Bowie username and password.

Steps to Install RCM in Word

2.  Click Add-ins

3.  Type RefWorks Citation Manager and click Add

4.  Type in your BSU student e-mail address, password and click the Login button

5.  Choose the article you want to cite and click the box next to the name of the article.  To change the citation format, click the arrow key below the My References / My Citations blue box.

6.  Click Insert Citation.  (You may edit the citation by clicking Edit)

7.  The citation is now inserted in your research paper.
