Investing in Talent for Nearly Three Decades
Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies
Since 2008, the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies has awarded grants to over 200 scholars and fellows, supporting research that deepens the understanding of the historic relationship between the United States and Austria, including Habsburg Austria. These grants have led to articles, books, museum exhibitions, films and other initiatives. They continue to advance scholarship in cultural studies, economics, history, law, politics and public history, technology and commerce.
Fulbright
Since 2012, the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies, in partnership with the Austrian-American Educational Commission/Fulbright Austria, has awarded two annual Fulbright-Botstiber Visiting Professor fellowships to promote an understanding of the historic relationship between Austria and the United States. One fellowship supports an Austrian scholar
hosted at a U.S. institution, and the other supports an American scholar hosted at an Austrian institution. To date, these fellowships have supported more than 25 scholars, strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Delaware Valley Science Fair
Since 1998, the Botstiber Foundation has supported the Delaware Valley Science Fair through general operating support and scholarships. Our longstanding partnership enables middle and high school students to pursue and showcase their curiosity, creativity and interest in science,
technology and commerce.
Penn State and Lehigh
From 2003 to 2023, the Botstiber Scholars Program at Penn State and Lehigh awarded more than 40 full scholarships in science, technology and commerce to exceptional students from 27 countries across four continents. Botstiber's $10 million investment nurtured the intellectual growth of a diverse community of future global leaders and innovators. The program concluded in 2023, but its legacy lives on in the talented young minds who will shape the future of science
and technology.
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund
Since 2015, the Botstiber Foundation has partnered with the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to provide STEM scholarships for outstanding students, helping nurture their talents and empowering them to pursue ambitious academic paths and contribute to the future of science and innovation.
